The federal government has reportedly procured six attack helicopters from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).

The helicopter, T129, has the capacity to perform well in hot temperatures and high altitudes.

According to Defense News, Temel Kotil, general manager of TAI, said the company will deliver a batch of six T129 attack helicopters.

Kotil did not mention the exact date the helicopters will be delivered to Nigeria.

The development is coming amid rising insecurity in many parts of the country, including the federal capital territory (FCT).

Nigeria and turkey have signed a series of bilateral agreements in the past few years.

In October 2021, President Muhammadu Buhari met Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his Turkish counterpart, at the state house in the FCT.

During the meeting, both leaders considered about 24 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs).

In December 2021, Buhari sought the help of turkey to defeat terrorism while speaking at the turkey-Africa Partnership Summit in Istanbul.

This is not the first time the Buhari-led administration will be making efforts to procure military equipment to combat insurgency.

In October 2021, the federal government confirmed the delivery of all the 12 A-29 Super Tucano fighter jets expected from the United States

The rest of our mi35 (6 or 7) are still caught up in Russia, when do we expect them?

Any idea if these are for army aviation, have been seeing speculation along that line.

BTW, I think its time we pay attention to the police, the military under this administration has come up, though a long way to go still but the police need to be up and doing.

These guys are just wasting funds, what progress have they made with the initial ones that were bought.

Even if they give Buhari nuclear weapons, there will be no difference because he doesn't want to make a difference

And the Tucanos what have we gained? There's a standing order not to shoot any fulani and fulani both local and foreign are the terrorists and bandits so what are they buyiing the copters for?
Ask any police officer if they can touch any fulani criminal anyhow? A call always come from Abuja police HQ to let them go and if you fail you will understand.
The fulani are our masters whether you agree or you know it or you don't. Our fathers served them and as it is our children most likely are already setup to serve them. A fulani kid with just 5 marks in common entrance exam from Yobe will go to the best unity school of his choice, meanwhile a child from kogi has to score 113 marks to get same school. Funny enough that Yobe child will get employed in public service before the kogi kid and will be a director by the time the kogi kid is fighting to be senior manager. Some of Pantami's classmates with better results from same school are still looking for daily bread meanwhile he's already minister. This is why it seems most decisions of govt are fookishh because the people making them are quota system beneficiaries. This is a dead country

For who?

To give to who?

All the ones you have been buying who are the ones using it?

How do ammunition get into the hands of extremists in a country governed by a leader?

Federal government continue. God is watching you.

Like play, Nigeria has become a war zone...a terrorist nation. I feel like someone who's dreaming right now.

These greedy and corrupt leaders have destroyed this country. Who would they use the helicopter for? Nigerian youths whose future had been taken away from them and replaced with poverty. Instead of giving them education and future which would have changed their orientation and view about religion and life, they looked the other way...no jobs, no life, no security, no love....They all educate their children overseas after destroying the structure that gave then life and relevance. One man shouting emi lokan lati ba nigeria je patapata had cornered everything to himself. His daughter talks like a drug addict each time she goes to meet the iyalojas cos her father made her iyaloja-general of Lagos. It's a matter of time, Nigeria will rise again.

Youths, vote the APC and/or PDP again at your own peril. You ain't seen nothing yet.
