Good morning. I’ve enabled the Update. the Vantage App has been downloaded and it’s working just fine. My data goes to updating of either drivers or something about Intel bla bla bla. For certain occasions I spend 6gbs in updating imaginary things.

you are using win10 pro. all thinkpads come with pro. you can manage your updates

also, install glasswire, and you can see EXACTLY where your data is going.

How do I limit the bandwidth?

option 1 - delay updates

option 2, go to delivery optimization and reduce update bandwidth

i have the same problem with my pikins devices as they seem to chop data randomly. or maybe something else is happening angry

one time I started a new job and my IT clearance didn’t work properly so I couldn’t clock in my hours electronically. Per protocol, I used a paper time sheet to log my time pending my IT clearance and somehow someone in the payroll missed my time sheet so I didn’t get paid for two weeks.
OMG.

The director called to apologize. The union president called to apologize. The CNO called to apologize. Emails and emails to follow up to make sure they didn’t miss it during the next pay period.
Tell me why I won’t be motivated to go to work?

Our employers need to really adopt the practice of making sure they take the employees time seriously. This hourly pay thing might be the solution if enough people get on board.

Obviously state government won’t get on board because they are the professionals at owing civil servants for 6 months. Useless governors

This happened in Nigeria?

I think it's because most Nigerian companies just like to adopt practices without any real benefit to the employees. I am all for hourly or daily pay. It is a much more productive approach and it will enhance the quality of life of employees. Because if they want to rest, they can rest, If they want to earn, they can get to work immediately and earn money.

Hourly Pay Vs Monthly Salary…

Would you like this payment method or you prefer the fixed monthly salary?

Because the monthly pay favour them more. An average employee in Nigeria is under paid. Try and divide your salary by the number of days you work and you will be tempted to resign immediately because you will immediately noticed how you have been enslaved

It will make money circulate weekly and biweekly. Bring about economic growth. They should also make rent monthly. Bring credit and mortgages. These Nigeria leaders are dummies.

They will be paying about #125 per hour if you go by the current minimum wage of #30000 with an average workers working 8hours a day.

Inadequate employment opportunities, this has made many employers adopt this slavery mentality. Even the govt is complicit in this, paying you peanut and telling you not to do anything else

So that they can underpay their workers. You can make more than min wage if you're being paid per hour

Most of these civil service ministries and some private sector employers, no dey fit pay monthly salary, reliably, as and when due. Na hourly dem go fit pay?

Make we reason am na, they usually have about 25 - 28 days to plan towards salaries but when the month ends na story. I worry that hourly payments may even be harder to implement, las las if you clocked in 80 hours, they will decide to only pay 40 hours with some BS story.

To answer your question, I won't mind hourly pay. I get to decide how many hours per day I want to work and work-life balance will be a reality in my control. We pay too much lip service to work-life balance in Naija and in a city like Lasgidi it should be actively enforced.

I just taya.

But hourly pay for good o.

Like me wey be number one lazy youth of Africa, I go just wake up, calculate how many hours I go like work for in a day.

Hourly pay still comes out as the best. Even if you want to earn 2m per month, it will be divided by your total number of work hours and paid per hour..

I bet there won't be anything like, lateness to work, my house girl didn't warm soup on time, , and all those lazy unproductive work attitudes.

Hourly pay does not work well for all jobs. It is best suited to unskilled jobs. For example, in the US, not all jobs follow the hourly thing religiously especially tech roles. They are more concerned with deadlines and productivity. If you can beat these two, you can work for 4-5 hours and still be paid like typical 6-9. However expect to stay significantly longer when a deadline is approaching because you no be robot.

Because it is expensive to deploy and maintain on a large scale.
Those that presently administer a daily rate in the construction, engineering and parts of manufacturing and general services know this.

It requires a lot of 'paper work' and layers of added supervision and where the citizens are generally not ethical it can quickly become a nightmare because by nature daily rates can easily gross out to be much more than the equivalent monthly salary.

However if administered properly can be a great tool to boost productivity.

Completely untrue.

They do this where I work presently. 50% half of the month, 50% at month end. The only issue is the Pension, the first 50% is not treated as a salary. PAYE and Pension remittances will be calculated on the second payment. The benefit is that the employee will pay tax on 50% of his/her salary while the pension will be lower than it should (8% plus 10%) of the 50% salary will be paid as Pension.

Sorry to sound like a killjoy about your tax-free "enjoyment", but what your Company is doing is tax evasion and they will pay it all back if they are audited by this revenue-aggressive administration.

Your initial 50% is supposed to be taxed as it is not exempt. But your company is smart to exclude it from the pension calculation base in order to reduce the amount of their financial contribution to your old age by half. So they are actually doing themselves a favour reducing their cost of keeping you in employment while you also get to chop part of your old age money now, making it look like a win-win.

Smart management grin

Hourly pay doesn’t mean paychecks have to be weekly, it can be weekly, biweekly, every 2 weeks of monthly etc same with salary.

Paychecks would be weekly. grin
Re: Why Don’t Nigerian Employers Adopt Hourly Pay? by dogmart(m): 12:32pm On Aug 01, 2022
On a serious note, it all boils down to productivity.
If an employer is determined to diligently Increase productivity he must be prepared to ensure staffs are monitored to be productive at every working hour.
With that slotfullness will be eradicated.

Most employers of labour in Nigeria actually just pay staffs for doing next to nothing. Most especially the public sector. The private sector on the other hand actually use this ongoing system (monthly remuneration) to their advantage, making staffs work more to earn less.

If the pay per hour system is employed, it will put the system on its feet, and actually ensure no one gets robbed.

You blame them? Responsibilities too much for this Nigeria.

I have always wondered how people in civil service do it. They are owing you for 7 months and you are still coming to work. Is it that there is something going on there that we don’t know? lipsrsealed

I am hearing this for the first time. I know people in at least 5 top banks and none of them gets paid twice a month. Maybe it is the remaining 20-something banks that pay twice a month.
