LMAO, federal government will never I repeat never give Ports to state governments...Their major cashcow
They could do e.g when Jonathan was in power what did he do?
This is one reason why I do not support Yoruba presidency.
Even without it all this is coming to Lagos and it is good it happens when a Yoruba is not in charge so no one can shout abuse of office

Good move but congesting all the nation port at a location is not good. Development needs to be evenly spread.

They know exactly what they are doing, we have great sites in akwa-ibom,rivers, bayelsa and Anambra, Delta that can be used for world class ports in Nigeria but they want all of ss/se to remain dependant on Lagos for its port related business, 90% of cargos in the ports belong to people from the aforementioned regions too.

That peanut is still embezzled by d LG so how are you progressing ?
In already congested Lagos you want to add 2 more ports when there are other states available for it. Most of the containers from d port goes to the east and others to the North, very few in SW. Why make them drop it down here when there are places in SS ND SE for it

Good news. But development of the country should be evenly spread.

Lagos state has Apapa Port and Tincan Island Ports. Major patrons of these Ports are people of South East extraction. They are the major importers.

Sadly, no single Port in the southeast stretch. They freight their goods from Lagos Ports and onward bound southeast. This is not fair.

Yet,another Port is to be added to existing Ports at Badagry, less than 60 kilometers from Lagos. Where is the fairness and justice.

This skewed development is what's giving rise to separatist agitations in the country. FG could do better by spreading development to all regions of the country Not only Lagos.

Restructuring of the country is key to development and national cohesion.

Eastern leaders should wake up to these injustices!

AFTER THIS, THEY WILL STILL LOBBY FED TO BUILD MORE PORTS IN LAGOS, AND TURN AROUND TO TALK RUBBISH ABOUT YORUBA OWNING LAGOS.

FG has approved development of seaports in Warri, Akwa Ibom and other places. Sadly, the state governments have refused to mobilize private investors to develop the ports. If the government in Lagos is doing the needful by mobilizing private investors for ports in Lagos, how’s it FGs fault? Why do you guys find it difficult to blame your useless state governors?

Do you want Lagos state government to help SS and SE governors look for port investors or what? Why are you guys never sincere With your criticism?

FG is not building the project. They simply gave approval because port is on exclusive list. Lagos State government brought the Private investors that will fund the project. FG is not spending shishi on the project. Tell your state governors to go and look for private investors to fund development of seaports in your region and stop blaming others for doing what is good for their state. Nobody is stopping your governors. Hold them to account.

What happened to the approval of seaport construction in South South region. No investors to finance the project. And no sea in South East. Building river ports in those region will no be a wise investment because they'll need to transfer cargos from larger vessel to smaller one that can navigate through the river ways which will add to the landing costs of good. Instead south south governors that have the approval to build seaports in their states should source for investors like Lagos state did. Let's not deceive ourselves, a region needs to be relatively peaceful to attract investors.
