https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLja1vQlmgc The Minister of Agriculture, Mohammed Abubakar, on Thursday said in spite of the protracted security challenge in the country, food production has not dropped. Speaking during the weekly ministerial briefing at the State House in Abuja, Abubakar acknowledged that the insurgency, inhibiting farmers from accessing their farms, particularly in the North-West, North-East, and North-Central, is a concern for the Federal Government. He, however, maintained that food production continues at an appreciable level for most parts of the country. The minister further revealed that 3.6 million direct and indirect jobs have been created through $1.1 billion in externally-funded agriculture projects and are being implemented by the present administration. According to him, $538 million dollars was approved by the African Development Bank (AfDB) for special agricultural processing zones to support inclusive and sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria. He gave the participating states as Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kogi, Kwara, Kebbi, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, and Sokoto. While debunking recent reports that Nigeria is not on track to end food hunger by 2025, Abubakar cited Nigeria’s food production sufficiency (which has placed the country as number 1 in Africa and 4th in the world in rice production) as evidence that President Muhammadu Buhari is living up to his promise to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty within a decade. |

Quit the denial...Nigeria is facing serious food insecurity! Studies have shown that farmers in the rural areas now farm along their villages as they can't go deep into the forest to farm again for fear of being attacked or killed or get their farms destroyed by Fulani herders. A tuber of new yam in Ibadan now sells for an average of 1,000! Even fresh corn that we should be using to cook varieties now is fast disappearing from the streets because only few people were able to harvest! It is a tough situation |

Everything needed to grant amnesty just failing in place at the last 12 months. They are in Abuja and look invincible, they are killing army, police and civilians like chicken, army are demoralized and owed salaries in order to demoralize them even more and guaranty terrorist have upperhand, they are being pronounced as repentant at an alarming and questionable rate, they don't lack logistics, media are being chased for their sake unlike IPOB, and now they aren't responsible for the plight of the people in anyway. Ride on Buhari. Those of us who understand are closely watching. |

Wise Men say "an elder Man is ageing to die" shouldn't our "Lai Mohammed" know he's ageing to die and desist from lying and speak truth or be silent. How many farmers can access their Farm lands because of terrorists/bandits and kidnappers maiming and killing them? |

SocialJustice:Amnesty must be granted whether the masses like it or not. It is being planned to be forcefully granted by the next admininistration or as the last thing by this useless administration. The masses can die of hunger as long as Buhari proves that Fulani are equal to ND militants by granting them wuruwuru amnesty. Read between the line all their moves and you will see clearly where it is all headed. The only positive that may accompany the demonic amnesty push is their usual welfare schemes targeted at voting base but I doubt Buhari will trust a southerner to grant the demonic amnesty, he may just skillfully pass it to atiku because I cannot see Peter Obi giving amnesty without IPOBs. |
