Lol, that's because you looked at the side that favoured crystal palace na. I guess you didn't know that Palace haven't won their opening match (weda home or away) for the past 4-5 seasons right? grin
Are you sure about that? wink undecided

They beat a certain United team at old Trafford two seasons ago.

That's why I said I believe in the mentality of this Arsenal team.
On their usual day, they could have easily fallen apart under pressure, but they held on. It's a sign, a good one. Yet more is to come because it isn't our best selection.

First matches against small teams are usually very difficult.

First matches are difficult and to be fair to the team, getting the W against a difficult Palace team requires good mentality. I will wait to see more games before concluding the team's over all mentality has improved from last season, especially our attacking mentality.

Palace could easily have gotten a result from us yesterday and the conversation would have been different but they were unlucky in 2 situations.

But yes, the W was the most important thing and we got it. I look forward to an improved performance against a better Leicester side.

Aside White for Tomi, I think that's our best selection ystdy. Hopefully, we'll see how the season unfolds but it's always great to start the season with a win

Arteta and BFG were both present at the Man Utd game. BFG..the little Prof grin grin

1st goal: Marq did a feint (at the edge of the box), shift the ball to the right and shoot.the shot was blocked and fell to Edward who tapped home.

2nd goal: Marq cut inside, shoot bit it was blocked. The ball fell back to him and he took a shot just from outside the box again which went straight in.

3rd goal: Marq cut in and chip a pass towards Azeez who carefully brought down the ball and scored the calmest finish of the day.

Hope I try grin grin

Plus the own goal was a huge relief

Lol... Na you try pass.
If Marquinhos can continue performing laidis and improves also in Europa group stage, then top team might beckon for him sooner rather than later like Martinelli

Top team? I would want him to stay and back Saka up.

of course, that's what I meant. For him to enter the top team means he'll have to be a backup at first to Saka. That's a good promotion considering he wouldn't even be seeing matchday squad presently

How good is this guy? Have anybody watched him personally.

I'm wary about German league players(especially attackers) especially when I've never watched them personally.

Lol, he even turned 27 on Tues, meaning as at last week he was 26 grin

But then, I thought he's the developmental coach and not really the direct assistant. Isn't Stuivenberg our assistant coach?

Watching All or nothing—Arsenal episode 1-3 and here are some few pointers.

1... Arteta isn't as high-handed as probably some of us sees him to be. He also seems to be a good coach who tends to relate with players well

2.. I think Josh kroenke loves arsenal more than his Popsie. In fact, I'm thinking all these recent cash flows we're experiencing is due to Josh's influence than Stan actually turning a new leaf overnight undecided

3... I really love the way Arteta psyches the player up before each game and also how he brings togetherness In the team.

4... It's always good for a coach to have the support of the backroom staff and top executives. Edu and Josh(especially) demonstrated that during arsenal/Arteta tough spell last season where we lost 3 straight matches.

5... Auba na one hell of a jolly good fellow. Omo, the players will miss him sha grin

These Is just the few I can remember but if you haven't watched it, I'll advise at your leisure time please do.
