I was expecting the school to reject the money since it was coming from the people they called Igbos. Tomorrow, if the same man contests for any position in the FG ,the same people who accepted his money will come out and start spreading hate and lies against him

Tribalism will destroy this country.
I want this country to suffer to the point that we can't differentiate between Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, all we will be interested in is the best man for the Job.

Mumu people so everybody in southeast is now IPOB, so if any Yoruba person donate money to a university in southeast now the person will automatically become AFENIFERE?

The poster is feeling funky because someone donated $1m to the school.
Do you know how many of your people that same University of Ibadan has made?
Most of your prominent people graduated from the school and they're taught majorly by Yoruba professors.

I think you should rather be appreciative that the university made the donator hence, he paid back.

.... Waw... He donated the money because he graduated from the University.... Yoruba trained him to be a doctor, not an ipob and not from an ipob university.. He donated 1 million dollars to a yoruba university because he really appreciate what the yoruba people did for him and the people of yoruba by making life comfortable and peaceful for him when studying here... Why can't he give any ipob universities?.. He can't they didn't add value to his life...

University made him but the same university couldn't make the other millions who have graduated from there. For your info, he was the highest single donor to the university so far. The University should be very happy and very appreciative to him for the fact that he choosed to even remember them in the first place not minding the fact that the donor wasn't even Yoruba in the first place. He finished from UI and went to UNTH in Enugu to do his internship before leaving Nigeria. Schools like UNN in tbe east have madeany Yorubas too but none of them have ever donated anything to the UNN.. that's to show you how tribalistic how many Yorubas are.

And how many Yorubas that went to the sam UI donated such amount to UI. Abi UI didn't do same to yorubas. He was the highest single donor so far in the history of the university. How many Yorubas have done the same to schools in Igboland, there are none. That's to show you how tribalistic Yorubas are

The ipob there is to call out the hypocrisy of yoruba people. They choose to call every igbo ipob same way they have been painting peter ipob supporter. They call every igbo ipob and at same time accept money from the same people they insult and spread lies against

I don't know where you left your sense but go pick it up. I believe you're one of those that believe monopoly made Dangote.

FYI, he's not the only doctor that graduated from the University and he's not the richest. His ability to give back should be celebrated

My cousin did his wedding last month. You needed to see the way our Igbo friends made the occasion to interesting. They also spent money as if they were family. Igbos have a very large heart.

First of all, how many yoruba graduated from UNN compared to UI?
And who told you that he's the highest contributor to the university. People has always been donating gifts, projects, building to UI not necessarily money. A lot of prominent Nigerians and Africans graduated from UI and none of them made it a big deal after doing back.
No doubt, the man is a good person but why would people like you and the OP think he's doing it and he's special just because he's Igbo.
Whenever Yoruba do you good, u won't see anything wrong or special in it, but when you do yours, you shout it, I think it's inferiority complex.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be celebrated. But why would u make it tribal as if a whole lot of people have not been giving back to the university. Y should you think it's a big deal cos an Igbo person did it. The man is not reasoning like you and the OP, he's someone who know the value of what he received from the school.

I don't know where you picked up tribalism in my post.

My point is that the University didn't make him,he made himself after all he's not the only graduate from the school. Many are still unemployed

Do you have the list of tribes who have graduated in both schools cause I know many prominent yorubas that went UNN. Even pst adebayo went to UNN but because of the civil war then, he left UNN. Like I said, igbos are more open and less tribalistic compared to yorubas. Go to any igbo owned companies, you will notice how diverse it is but go to yoruba owned company, it is less diverse with Yorubas occupying every position

Truly Yoruba is the problem of Nigeria.

Always promoting ethnic hatred, reason why they don't leave their enclave.
When the narrative don't suit them, you see them calling names.

Not only their companies but their Churches...
Winners
RCCG

If you are not Yoruba, just forget it.
Very tribalistic and diabolical!

There have been larger donations. Afe babalola in his time gave over 3 million dollars for the radiotherapy building in the university of ibadan.

The walls were made with lead and some other expensive stuffs.

As if he never paid his school fees while in school.
As if your highly tribalistic Yoruba man can do such to anything Igbo.
We thank God for our large heart, we thank God for making us Igbo.
Save your sermon dear!

This one is a fool
A student give his Alma mater a cash gift , you say they should reject it
The relationship between the school and the student is more cordial than what you presume you have with him.
So run along

If you'll be sincere with yourself, you'll actually know that it is totally impossible for Yoruba graduates of UNN to be more than Igbos of UI.

You are not wise, does the man recognize himself as an ipob member, does he appreciate it that UI made him part of who he is today, and if the same UI had denied him admission then citing same reason you put up here that he is not Youruba, would he have been where he is today?
I no get time for argument, the man is blessed and he is now playing a part to do same to others coming after him, afterall the hostel will not house only Yorubas..

Those who have the money don't even reason along the tribal line, and politicians who don't mean well and want to chop Nigeria money don't also reason along the tribal line except masses like you.

They were taught by Yoruba professors who were tutored by Prof Kenneth Dike. The first Vice Chancellor of UI. Whatever UI is known today for, whether good or bad, they owe it Prof Kenneth Dike from Anambra state.

Basically, Yorubas finest Universities had their foundations laid by Igbo professors. Igbos have done a lot for the Yorubas, but they always pay Igbos payback with evil. If not Ojukwu, Awo would have rot in jail.
