But it was the Yoruba university that trained him na
So, he was trained there for free right?

Mumu people so everybody in southeast is now IPOB, so if any Yoruba person donate money to a university in southeast now the person will automatically become AFENIFERE?
That's the last thing a yoruba man would do. Prove me wrong.

The poster is feeling funky because someone donated $1m to the school.
Do you know how many of your people that same University of Ibadan has made?
Most of your prominent people graduated from the school and they're taught majorly by Yoruba professors.

I think you should rather be appreciative that the university made the donator hence, he paid back.
Do you also know how many of your UNN has made? The point OP making is that all Igbos become IPOB to yoruba bigots when they aspire to any position that require the support of yoruba nation. They will never bring up their tribal hatred when an Igbo man extends charitable act to them. Accept the Igbos or totally reject them.

Yoruba ronu.

.... Waw... He donated the money because he graduated from the University.... Yoruba trained him to be a doctor, not an ipob and not from an ipob university.. He donated 1 million dollars to a yoruba university because he really appreciate what the yoruba people did for him and the people of yoruba by making life comfortable and peaceful for him when studying here... Why can't he give any ipob universities?.. He can't they didn't add value to his life...
How much did yoruba graduates from the same UI donate? Before you make mistake, note that an Igbo man from Anambra was the first indigenous VC of the same UI.

University made him but the same university couldn't make the other millions who have graduated from there. For your info, he was the highest single donor to the university so far. The University should be very happy and very appreciative to him for the fact that he choosed to even remember them in the first place not minding the fact that the donor wasn't even Yoruba in the first place. He finished from UI and went to UNTH in Enugu to do his internship before leaving Nigeria. Schools like UNN in tbe east have madeany Yorubas too but none of them have ever donated anything to the UNN.. that's to show you how tribalistic how many Yorubas are.
Are you sure about you said that he is the highest single donor for the university? Because just last year Abdul Samad Rabiu donated 1 billion Naira to that same university....

Ok.. says someone who have stayed in both region to come to conclusion.
Lol, out of one Yoruba living in SE, there are hundreds in SW. Most Yoruba in SE are contractors (temporary), tailors and hawkers. There are no vibrant and intelligent Yoruba that has lots to offer in your region. I'm not trying to sound tribal but that's the truth

First of all, how many yoruba graduated from UNN compared to UI?
And who told you that he's the highest contributor to the university. People has always been donating gifts, projects, building to UI not necessarily money. A lot of prominent Nigerians and Africans graduated from UI and none of them made it a big deal after doing back.
No doubt, the man is a good person but why would people like you and the OP think he's doing it and he's special just because he's Igbo.
Whenever Yoruba do you good, u won't see anything wrong or special in it, but when you do yours, you shout it, I think it's inferiority complex.
you're very wrong....unn has produced more Yoruba graduates than ui has produced produced Igbo graduates...
most Igbo families no matter where they are in Nigeria usually send their kids back to the south east for tertiary education

You should understand sarcasm when you see one. A lot of folks tag IGBOS in general as IPOB. This thread is just a reminder that miscreants exist in every tribe just as we have good people.

No Yoruba man can do that, never in their entire history as a people.

You're the wrong one here. There are tonnes of Igbo in OAU, UniLag, Unilorin, UI and other SW university compare to SE states. Most Yoruba won't even think of sending their children to school in SE except if there's a reason or they're living there.
Why would someone leave the likes of OAU, UI, UniLag, FUTA, Unilorin and go for SE universities. Reason am too na

Igbos mainly live in Lagos which is a little bit developed, why would an Igbo family send their kids to Ibadan ,ekiti, Oyo,ondo of all places?

Lmao. No Igboland is as developed as Ibadan. It's obvious you're not used to SW universities. Even in Unilorin that's a majorly Yoruba Muslims, they are still very many there.

no Igbo family would risk sending their own to your villages....
apart from Lagos, your villages are still full of mud houses and thatched roofs, no toilets,no good drinking water, the few cement block houses were built when oduduwa was a teenager...
we don't send our relatives to such places

I repeat , no Igboland is as developed as Ibadan.
The mud houses and brown roofs in Ibadan are still there as a result of large land size. We've enough lands to build our new houses so we don't have any need to destroy the old ones.

Ibadan is an eyesore, it's only inhabitable to the Yorubas...
we don't live in such houses again in the east....
Our villages are full of quality houses and good water, something that exists only in Lagos in the entire yoruba land

Your Village are full of quality houses. Lol. Those huts? U don't get me at all. We can even still leave a house of 19th century if we want cos there's so much land for us to have a new one. Ibadan only has about 6 GRAs

yes, u heard me right, the eastern villages are filled with quality houses unlike what you have in the south west.....
Ibadan is not bigger than USA, yet the Americans always try to upgrade or replace old houses...

you people are simply POOR!

Lol. The eastern villages are filled with quality houses. Can u show me pictures of the so called eastern villages with quality houses if you won't disgrace yourself. What your fellow ones do is to snap picture of a house in the village and label it the whole village. Even your cities are eyesore, smelly, dirty and unhealthy for a living soul to live there. No wonder you don't have foreigners living with you.

There are many threads here on nairaland talking about Igbo towns and villages not the CAPITAL CITY.
You can go to those threads and educate yourself.

We have more northerners and people of south south in Anambra than ekiti, ondo and Akure combined.

I won't educate you on your ignorance, it's your inheritance, but a little travel will let you see many of your people in the east doing their menial jobs for survival...
