Wenger was in the job, where was his successor? you cant on the one hand say he failed to groom a successor then say it is unusual for a manager to be in a job that long so you have no examples.. make up your mind. As an Arsenal fan, I can tell you manu were already on the decline even before Fergie left, but such is Fergie's managerial skills that he was able to squeeze 1 last glory out of a team that was already going down in quality.
