Good leaders aren’t appreciated until they leave office, Oshiomhole eulogises Jonathan

The former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that Nigerians don’t appreciate good leaders until they leave office, noting that former President Goodluck Jonathan left enviable legacies behind.

The ex-national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) confessed that he fought former President Jonathan out of office due to their differences in political interests. He stated this at the one-year memorial lecture in honour of late Captain Hosa Okunbo, in Abuja today.

Oshiomhole said: “You (Jonathan) left legacies even though that I had cause to fight because it is politics. The legacy you have left, there is no successor who can afford to do less.

“But the logic of multi-party democracy is that even an angel can be defeated. You have set a standard that none of your successors can afford to go below.

“Part of your (Jonathan) legacies was when you launched the almajiri school and your thought was that no Nigerian child should be left on the street and also appropriated special funds

“These ideas are not new but what we lack is the will to transform it to practice. We never know who are our friends until when we are no more. No one is appreciated until he or she leaves office,” he said.

Other speakers at the event were Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwase III decried the glorification of stomach infrastructure in Nigeria’s political culture, among others.

They described the late Captain Hosa Okunbo as a man with a large heart, the spirit of philanthropy and ardent love for the needy. According to them, one of his legacies that will continue to endure is that he nurtured and mentored many to become responsible members of the society.

Same man they maligned with wicked lies & propaganda backed then? Well, it is confession time. Jonathan was not perfect but he set a standard. Now, what has the disastrous government this former turn-coat Labour activist have instituted?

So much ineptitude, cluelessness, and incompetence.
It is the widespread deteriorating Insecurity/hunger, reckless borrowings/looting, bastardized economy, endless ASUU strike(while gifting Niger Republic 1.4B cars), institutionalised corruption, rehabilitation of terrorists, indiscriminate pardoning of criminals, masking the incompetence of the sick President by the NASS among many?

He doesn’t fall into that category.

Oshiomole is a big fool.

In fact, an ugly fool.

This same idiot fought Madam Ngozi for not allowing him borrow Edo State into trouble.

He suspended common sense to do Tinubu’s bidding in 2015.

Onye ala!

Honestly in my opinion, Jonathan's era was really really bad.. people were crying...A lot of people cannot afford to forget that easily... He ran out of options on what to do with Nigeria...

But this particular 'regime', people are not crying.. they are dying in their numbers...
The wind of 'change ' blew and swept away every normalcy...the little normal thing that was left from the wind of destruction, the party members used their APC brooms to sweep it in or out or under... Depending on their sweeping directions..

Imagine many Nigerians campaigning for a particular party without collecting anything.. that shows that they have had it up to the neck.. sad

To the obidient movement,

The youths have found a voice in being obidient. The youths have found a platform for sounding their voices, the youths are ever ready to show their resolve in rescuing their nation. The youths chose Peter obi and not the other way round, his ideals, his moral capacity and his records are enviable, while resonating with the thought process of Nigerian youths.

To the youths , I greet you, I applaud you, this is a fight for your voices to be heard. The naysayers fight everyday to discourage you, they attack you with lies and accuse you of bullying. Don't be discouraged, you are only taking a political position in Nigeria's affairs.

However I have to tell you the vision for the obidient movement. The movement must go beyond the campaign and sensitization season, the movement must fight to the very end. The goal of enthroning the youth's choice to lead us will be achieved, however the job is not yet done. The naysayers and detractors are already planning on how to make the presidency of your choice a bad one. Through their terrorist activities. The intend to graduate from naysayers to terrorists, they will attack the land with media lies, sponsored attacks of terrorism, insider jobs with sponsored moles and many more evils they can muster. Be ready for such eventuality when your choice wins, be ready to defend your choice in office, he/she will have it rough at the beginning, but once the enemies of the nation see your continuing resolve to fight for a Nigeria of your vision, they will eventually back away and allow your choice to paddle Nigeria forward.

Even after your choice leaves office, the next generation of obidient youths must exercise their rights through the movement to pick the best Nigerian to lead the nation again. The right to pick who leads this nation must always be by the youths of that age. The youths of that age will always be the decision makers on who would pilot the affairs of the nation. Only the competent and morally just of candidates will qualify. Great men and women from all parts of Nigeria, will have a chance to pitch to the obident nigerian youths, they will sell their ideas and characters and the youths will vote to make their choice president and other elective posts. The naysayers will see your success and join your ranks and Nigeria will become great again.

Don't be scared of losing, be motivated in expressing your vision. To lose is part and parcel of elections, just as it is to win. The fear of losing should never be an encumbrance to stop you from expressing your voice and choice. The youths will always be the enlightened generation, the detribalized generation, the religiously fluid generation and it is on your efforts and your choices, that every new Nigeria will be built.

Ensure that this first journey , which will be a start of a life long journey is accomplished without violence, without tribal and religious hatred, without corruption and with our firm motto of "we no dey give shishi". God is our patron and he will ordain our choices everyday you fight for the good of Nigeria.

Be obidient and useful.

Abba Kyari has reset this one's brain. If Kyari was still around Oshiohmhole would have gone into exile in the Amazon Forest.

Why didn't you come out when Abba Kyari was here? Why did you go underground and moving in the night like a nocturnal roddent?

See how you destroyed Nigeria with bitterness and envy of Jonathan?

The neglect of those schools and the livelihood of northerners is one of the causes of banditry. GEJ helped northers and they betrayed him for their own brother who has made matters even worse.

That’ll make Oshiomole a poor leader also, because till date Edo State is feeling less embarrassed that he has been relegated to the background in both the State & national politics of the APC! Out of all the current presidential candidates this country has ever seen, Obi is the first southern politician that has not abased himself to the fulani elite for power.

Oshimhole is of unstable character, and power has exposed him. Imagine a man who said that his life long ambition was to be like his fellow Afamai son Pa Michael Imoudu of blessed memory, only to prove that with political power at his disposal he is just a polished Lawrence Animi.
