No, je vous ai compris.

The problem is, even if we get all the loot back, and end corruption, it would solve the problem...for some time. The issue is, we have to have a way of keeping on making money...which is why fee increases, taxation, and diversification of the economy, as well as allowing the power and petrol sector to grow by removing subsidies...meaning more investment comes in to fund things .....happens.

But the thing is , most Nigerians are also poor and live under a dollar a day. So , education is between a rock and a hard place. You want first world education....you either pay first world prices, or you get the mess we currently have.

It does not excuse corruption. Indeed, it can be argued that corruption happens because the money will come in whether the university does well or not. Whereas if it can make enough money, that would end

All in all there is no easy answer....and I fully accept and understand that. But it kind of annoys me that Nigerians complain of bad education, and bad government...and then when solutions are proffered...we then complain of poverty.

Well, we spend 3 billion dollars on education alone, part of which goes to universites. South Africa spends about 23 billion dollars alone (in 2019) and charges high fees to boot. Aid only exists for kids of people who earn less than a set amount...and you don't qualify if you earn more than that amount. SA also has a diversified economy, has a working power sector that is not hobbled by power subsides as in Nigeria, and a petrol sector that is not hobbled by subsidy...as a result money flows in, and SA people have the income to show.

Well, like I said....I understand you Nigerians. You are an Obi supporter. I have had similar discussions with Tinubu supporters, and Atiku supporters. These discussions are always all the same...we are too poor, and government should give us everything for free. Well, there is that, and there is sadly cold reality.

If I had my way, fees in university would be N200 a year, petrol would cost N10 per liter...so that Nigerians can enjoy free stuff. But where would the money come to pay for the free stuff. That is the question I leave you with.

And by the way, I don't appreciate being abused. I am no government spokesman. That I disagree with you does not make me one. And don't use anonymity of this site to be abusive to me, or to anyone else here. Take warning.

Good afternoon again.
Nice piece. But I ask one question, do you really understand my argument? I don't think so. Or probably you keep shying away.

Talking about world class education, many private universities are already doing it with top notch facilities. Covenant University comes to mind. Why do people go there? Is it just because they are rich? Nay. The school is put in good form. Why can't FG do the least of things in those universities? Have you visited Nigerian universities? Where students sit on the floors to take lectures. I guess they can't build classrooms right?. How much was school fees when Awolowo gave free education in South West Nigeria? How much was school fees when we had good facilities in universities? In the early 60s. Did we even have oil then? Are you suggesting that our schools should remain in bad shape because we have poor population? So we can't even join other countries to move forward?

My brother, pray that one day a good government will take over. Then your doubt will be cleared.

it is normal now,the military is involved fully.

There was a time government officials will move millions of barrels to tank farms and nobody will know.
Do you know what is million of barrels

A barrel is 159 liters, that is 159,000,000 liters that is 4,800 road tankers in a day.
This won't certainly go through pipelines because the monitoring is done by IOCs the government has no leverage over.

So how do u think such volume can get missing in a day. There is oil theft but not at that scale

It seems buhari/osinbajo and APC have done an amazing job with the economy. May I ask, has buhari been able to save one Kobo since becoming president?

Is this what Tinubu and shettima say they want to continue?
