CONFIRMATION OF COURT MARTIAL PUNISHMENT - Sub-Lieutenant VN UKPAWANNE NN/4440

Sequel to Reference A regarding Navy Headquarter approval and Confirmation of Court Martial Punishment of the above named officer who attempted to commit Sodomy amidst other offences on 27 Oct 21 with one teenager, Hillary Omene close to Sapele Stadium, On 15 Aug 22 at about 10:35pm, the officer was officially paraded and was sentences as follow.

The officer was awarded one year loss of seniority, Six (06) months imprisonment, another Six (06) months imprisonment and lastly One (01) year imprisonment for all four offences. Pertinently, all imprisonment sentences are to run concurrently.

The dismissed officer is currently awaiting medical clearance from the Naval Medical Centre before handing over to Sapele Correctional Center for commencement of imprisonment term.

They conduct medical examinations on convicted officers like this who will do their time within the Naval provost jail so as to ascertain his fitness .

He will probably do his time in the provost jail and will be used to do hard labour in and around the barracks.

If the crime was much more serious like actual rape (he was caught attempting to rape a minor), he would have been handed to the police for prosecution and they will follow up and ensure he gets to court and is jailed in a regular prison.

I know of one dude who was dismissed from NDA after he was caught with a junior having sex.

Its not tolerated at all.

He was dismissed following the outcome if a court Marshall for bringing the navy into disrepute by attempting to commit Sodomy on a minor in a public space.

He is also to serve a one year prison term for his offence .
