You barely even get to see any advert on recruitment but somehow, they keep recruiting. Between 2018 and 2020, CBN for example recruited 900+ staffs silently, nobody heard pim about it. Many of them others filled them up secretly in the name of “replacement.” Slots are usually reserved for kids and family members of ministers, senators , HOR members and other top politicians . It just make you wonder, how can a common man with good brains get these opportunity?

It's just too bad, forget about this country. If you can't leave and seek greener pastures elsewhere where merit is appreciated, start your own business.

Employment in those sectors is not based on merit but strictly based on your level of connection to polithiefcians & other highly placed individuals in the society & how much you are willing to pay as bribe.

A careful interpretation of my statement will give you the definition of why grace comes in.

This administration has been the worst ever in terms of open recruitments into these MDAs.

Although, this dirty trend started in certain MDAs in the previous administration.

That's why the youth have a very crucial role to play in voting in the right individuals, notably in the Legislature as most people tend to overlook this arm of government, thereby allowing all manner of opportunists sneak in there.
At least, ensure most of these ones who only represent themselves do not return to the national assembly (and even State HOAs).

Without knowing anyone, I have walked into an office in one of those agencies listed above and got job after diligent and humble enquiries, submitting my credentials that match the criteria they listed and following up with other official steps yet I do not know the woman in charge from Adam.

As at today, LASG & FG,in particular, need gifted, smart, upright and patriotic youths from all walks of life but most of you guys have none of those core qualities and not bothered at all because you are enjoying the fun, jests and idleness on the social media. Those who met those criteria are on the actual merit list while the 'man-know-man' list is actually the extra.

Many of you ain't seen anything yet o, every of those negative words you spoke against the land you will reap. The land will never bless anyone who speak ill of it.

That politics of bigotry and hatred has completely ruined many of you guys to miss your blessings.

I remember those days some losers will say UNILAG admission is money only for me to later find out that UNILAG has a strong culture of meritocracy and its merit list is untouchable; those complaining are those who never meet the merit list criteria.

The topic of the thread pertains to a fact that recruitment into public and civil service in Nigeria today is shrouded in secrecy and a nauseating level of corruption.

There would definitely be isolated cases of individuals seeking assistance and following up as in your case, but I'm pretty sure you do not expect over 50million youth to randomly walk into these offices in the name of job seeking.

If these same Nigerian youth can get jobs from foreign government agencies and corporations based on merit, without travelling to their offices for whatever reasons, we should know this country is in a terrible situation.
And of course, mediocrity would be the order of the day as square pegs would be placed on round holes.

It depends on how deep is your connection. Here in the North especially NW and NE politicians have no option than to give jobs to idle graduates roaming the streets because now is the najor scale use to measure ones performance as a Federal appointee or elected officer. I have seen many lucky guys who were given jobs in those mentioned MDAs among others and they're from very poor family. There are other more lucrative agencies than those mentioned in Nigeria.
However, the system of giving jobs to people who aren't qualified or don't pass through the recruitment process is a grave injustice. Level playing ground should be restored because many candidates who qualify to get the offers are omitted and given to those with connection, very unfortunate!

Wrong mentality bro. Whenever vacancies show up for those organisations u mentioned please apply. Many persons have gotten jobs there without knowing anyone. I know lots of them but of course people will always think it's not possible
