mostob: ![]() Honestly I forgot he was an Arsenal player sef. I'm sure by January if his story doesn't change he would be looking for a move away from the club cos he Don try. Only God knows how he will feel seeing Saliba walk into the starting line-up while he's strapped to the bench for years |

How Liverpool still camped and pressed Crystal palace even with 10 men needs to be studied. At a point, I was thinking na crystal palace get 10men. Klopp na boss sha |

Jodera:It was because Crystal Palace were comfortable with the draw. It happened to us last season. It takes mental strength to do that and the team with more mental strength can still dominate. Though it will be a tough order. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:28am On Aug 16, 2022 |
Spy360:It happened to us? Against who? I believe it takes more than mental strength to do that. Tactics-wise, it's difficult for a team to camp another team in their own box with 10men even if the other team dey look for draw. Klopp na Baba abeg |

Who else noticed how Liverpool can’t keep a clean sheet and and yet to get a win in their last two games. What changed? Mane left their attack now looks weak. Look at how they are slicing through VVD, so called beat defender in the world, against the likes of Fulham and Crystal Palace for that matter. If tomorrow the attack gets strengthened y’all will start giving VVD some undue accolades. Some peeps really underestimate the power of a potent attack. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 8:46am On Aug 16, 2022 |
Jodera:It’s a tactical move from Liverpool and Crystal Palace. At 1-0 and a man down going to the end of the game. Liverpool has nothing to lose coming out. The approach from Liverpool would have been different if they (Liverpool) were leading before going a man down. |

kokaneprodigy:It’s actually injuries that Is dealing with them not necessarily mane’s departure . Jota is out injured , Thiago is out injured and a host of other first team players . I also do not buy the Van Djik overhype even though I believe he’s a good defender sha , but it’s obvious he’s not the only one that makes their team tick. Anyways I hope their injury woes continue jare. |

Spy360:How you they analyze football like this sef Palace attacked and led before the red, how can they decide to draw against 10 man |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:59am On Aug 16, 2022 |
kokaneprodigy:That red card happened in 57 minute oo. Man city in same situation against same crystal palace still collected another goal ontop the 1-0 they received before the red card and after that red card, they didn't even press crystal palace like that before the 2nd goal. I'm yet to see a team that's being red carded and still a goal down pressing the way Liverpool did ystdy. Even Counter was difficult for crystal palace. At a point I was even thinking crystal palace had the red card cos no place to even exploit |

iamoyindamola:I swear down. That pressing na die no be here. Only God knows how Klopp set them up ystdy to still be potent |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:09am On Aug 16, 2022 |
BlueRayDick:Thank you bro. Only Jota subbed into that attack with Salah ystdy would have yielded a goal with the kind of pressure crystal palace was subjected to, not to talk of thiago who would have worked wonders creatively with that amount of pressure they had Seeing klopp subbing in Gomez, Tsimikas, Henderson and rookie Cavalho when they needed a goal should tell one how deep the injury crisis dealt with them ystdy. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 9:12am On Aug 16, 2022 |
Jodera:football is not 1+1. Crystal Palace are the underdog here. This is a team that’s yet to win a game this season. They lost against us, and were playing Liverpool and you expect them to come out and not try to defend that 1 goal lead? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 9:16am On Aug 16, 2022 |
BlueRayDick:The two players you mentioned play where? Midfield and forward . If you had said they play defense maybe I would understand. My point is their attack is weakened and their defenders are exposed. This is not the first time something like this is happening to Liverpool. There was a season they chopped 6 or 7 goals in a match from an under dog for similar reason and VVD was there. But peeps keep giving the accolade of Liverpool’s fortune to VVD. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 9:26am On Aug 16, 2022 |
Jodera:I think it was against Watford. Though we won but came under serious pressure when they came down to 10 men. Don't get me wrong, tactics is very essential in this kind of situation, but tactics alone will fly out the window if the mentality is not there. Mentality first then tactics. Klopp is an excellent tactical coach and his tactics helped them during that period. But it is their mentality that made Liverpool get better after losing a player not tactics. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:27am On Aug 16, 2022 |
kokaneprodigy:If you watched that game you'll know crystal palace plans was to park the bus and hit on a counter with Eze being the ball carrier and Zaha the striker. Whether they were one goal up or not, they would still park the bus. The issue here is the counter which was effectively stifled by Liverpool even though they were one man down. If you watch that game well, you'll know crystal palace still tried the counter tactics but was effectively stifled. My praise for Liverpool and Klopp was that how were they able to do that even with one man down. I know how we(and most top team) dey always collect woto woto if faced with exact such situation as Liverpool |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 9:29am On Aug 16, 2022 |
kokaneprodigy:Okay, I understand ur point and I agree with u that attack is Loserpool's major strength and not defence; their attack makes the job of their attack simple. However, with or withouth mane Loserpool's attack is always a threat to any team. And yes Van Djik is a good defender, just that those who stan him always overhype him to high heavens without crediting those who do the dirty jobs like Matip as iamoyindamola pointed out. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 9:30am On Aug 16, 2022 |
iamoyindamola:Diaz equalised almost immediately after the red card and Liverpool got better. Palace did not choose to draw the game, in fact they could have won except for the cross bar. What happened was that they found themselves on the back foot and had to defend if not Liverpool would win. With the way Liverpool were fired up after equalising, Palace had no choice than to fall back just to avoid losing. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 9:35am On Aug 16, 2022 |
Jodera:I watched the game as I was hoping they drop points. Which they did. You rightly mentioned their (Palace) plan was to sit deep and counter. This thing happens in most games where the opponent decides to sit back and counter. The other team has no choice but to sit I. Their opponent’s half. In the case of Palace they were comfortable with that one goal and knowing Liverpool having nothing to lose will bombard them, they’ll have to sit much deeper. It was a tactical move from both sides. Palace came to sit deep. Do you realize this match was played at Anfield? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:45am On Aug 16, 2022 |
Spy360:I think it's Wolves(first leg) you're referring to instead of Watford. But then that's not a direct example because we were leading 1-0 and had a red card, so it's logical for us to defend. It would have been different if Wolves had the red card and still pressed us with our 1-0 lead throughout the 2nd half. And yeah, I understand the mental strength, Liverpool have it in ounces but it would have been difficult without the right tactics |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 10:01am On Aug 16, 2022 |
kokaneprodigy:Yeah, I know the match is at Anfield. While I understand all what you said but I still fail to understand Liverpool will make crystal palace park the bus throughout with one man down. I mean, if crystal palace was one man down or it was 11, it would have been understandable but not when Liverpool have the disadvantage then stifle their counter attack like that. There's a reason I brought up the Man city comparison and that's because are known to press any underdog and turn them to park the bus and counter attack tactics yet under same situation as Liverpool ystdy they floundered at Etihad |

kokaneprodigy:Inclusion of Jesus and a potential Winger called LB (zichenko) into the team turned Arsenal to prime BarceLOANa.If not that our attackers didn't relent against Leicester the match would have ended draw and all blame goes to Saliba... imagine the error done by Saliba was done by Mustafi heaven would have come down. |

Jodera:Crystal was pointless going into that game, Liverpool was equally as hungry as they had just 1 point prior to the game. Crystal Palace was not expecting a win at Anfield and were okay with seeing the game through with 1 goal lead. It’s the situation around the game we should assess. What does Liverpool have to lose if they go all out attack even with a man down? Kindly answer. |

Jodera:Liverpool is a pressing monster and they ran tirelessly throughout that second half. There's the home advantage and let's not forget it's anfield, where fans can be really frightening. Honestly, I expected Liverpool to get the win after Diaz goal cause we all know they're capable of doing so in these circumstances so it shouldn't be surprising |

kokaneprodigy:Spot on. Also add the winning mentality and the need to get their first win and it all makes sense. Crystal palace from the get-go went all defensive and were very satisfied with the draw |
