Engr Nonso @Joenons1

At 7:20am this morning,LAWMA went to my friend's house at Dopemu and asked to make an inquiry from him, as soon as he stepped out they dragged him into Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) black Maria, that his compound hasn't paid them.
He's been taken to Lagos state environmental sanitation corps in Oshodi and they're not willing to let him go.

Now they're asking him to bail himself.

Please @Princemoye1 @SavvyRinu @RuggedyBaba @BenHundeyin help get my friend out. He's at Lagos state environmental sanitation corps Oshodi.

Dear @BenHundeyin @PoliceNG

This is kidnapping right?

SP Benjamin Hundeyin @BenHundeyin

No, it’s not. I’ve been on the phone with the PROs of LAWMA and KAI. They were duly informed of their mounting debt. They were pick up today with a duly issued bench warrant. Kindly contact them for further information.

RE: LAGESC WORKING WITHIN THE AMBITS OF THE LAW

The attention of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) popularly known as KAI has been drawn to a news publication by The Punch Newspapers @MobilePunch of Monday, August 15th, 2022, Page 4, captioned

‘‘Lagos agency arrests residents over waste bills’’.

The legally-sanctioned operation is sequel to the bench warrant issued in respect of over 150 buildings and individuals in the Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA) of the State by the Lagos State Magistrate Court, Bolade-Oshodi in a cover letter dated 7th of June, 2022 to the Corps Marshal of the Agency, CP Gbemisola Akinpelu (retd).

We wish to state that the warrants were issued by the court after the respondents failed to appear in respect to the allegations of non-payment of the Lagos Waste Management Authority/Private Sector Participation (PSP) bills contained in the criminal summons Forms A of the Court.

LAGESC/KAI as an environmental enforcement agency established by the Lagos Environmental Management and Protection Law 2017 subsequently effected the arrests of the respondents in an enforcement operation carried out on the 9th of August, 2022 in line with best practises of enforcement techniques as the Agency maintains that no doors were broken into. The Corps Marshal directed that any reports of harassment or human rights violation be petitioned to the Agency with the appropriate evidence.

The Corps Marshal emphasises at all times, the need for all buildings in the State to be in possession of a valid waste contract as LAGESC is empowered by law to enforce the use of PSP operators, discourage Lagosians from patronising cart pushers and prosecute waste bill defaulters in conjunction with the Courts.

angry Dully arrested with an "arrest warrant" by forcefully bundling someone into a waiting van over non payment of refuse collection levy? What kind of country is this for goodness sake?

Perhaps these officials don't think about the implication of this foolish approach to enforcing compliance.

Engineer Nonso, pay up your waste bills. I don't know why you people carry your bad behavior from the East to Lagos.
Go to Aba, Onitsha, Awka, you see mountains of refuse on the roads.
In Aba, an entire 3-lane highway has been abandoned to refuse.

Lagos is not Aba, do the proper thing and stop the crying marginalization.

Same thing happened to my immediate younger brother 9 years ago. Some government officials from Itire LCDA together with some police men came to our compound in Ejire street and requested to see our Radio/Television license. But when my brother was unable to produce the receipt, they subtly told him to follow them to their waiting bus on the pretense that their boss wanted to see him. That was how my brother was bundled into their bus and was taken to a customary court along Itire/Ijesha express way. The presiding judge passed a judgement on my brother for late payment of the license and we were made to pay times 4 of the said amount before my brother was released to us.
But with all the money being generated in Lagos state from every means possible, there is not much to show for it in Itire LCDA.

Are they not supposed to be taken to court for hearing? Is it not the courts that's supposed to grant him bail? undecided

Tinubu is a PLACE HOLDER for gov Shettima, the earlier you people realize this the better oo.

Most of this people pushing this Drug Lord doesn't know there's an agenda to just install him by fire by force and when he is tired and sick before 2 years, Shettima will be swear in as president and more kabiru sokoto will be hiding in his house.

Even Yaradua was way stronger than him before he became president

Affliction shall not rise the second time

They don't have custodial might.

This is tantamount to kidnapping .

Habeas corpus should be invoked and their ass and that of LASG sued for illegal arrest and detention .

Only the Police and DSS have powers to arrest and detain.

Even the Arny has no such right.

When in Rome then behave like a Roman. If you are making a living in Lagos then you have to leave by the rules of Lagos state. This is not Anambra or Abakaliki where you just behave anyhow and refuse to pay your dues. You refuse to pay your LAWMA fee and which I believe you have been notified severally. Now when action is taken, you are crying like a baby. And I am sure the stupid idiot will be Obituary child. You say you want a better country and that the leaders are bad yet you cannot ensure that you do your part by paying your dues as at when due without you been forced to.

Stop arguing like an illiterate.

They have powers of arrest, handed over to the Police for custody and prosecutors are attached to the Agency to prosecute with fiat from the AG.

I am fully aware you cursed pigs of Biafuro lack knowledge of legal matters. That is why anywhere you go, you always end up in jail. Even in heaven, na jail Una go dey.

There is a LAGESC Law in Lagos which prohibits that behavior, a Warrant was duly issued, yet you undeveloped pygmy are crying nonsense.

May Lagos not stop developing and may you never stop crying.
