Racoon:
angry Dully arrested with an "arrest warrant" by forcefully bundling someone into a waiting van over non payment of refuse collection levy? What kind of country is this for goodness sake?

Perhaps these officials don't think about the implication of this foolish approach to enforcing compliance.

You people are naive. You are shouting London is this, Paris is fine. They started somewhere, you want to be enjoying clean environment without paying for it. We need to start somewhere.

Expect more of this when Tinubu finally emerges as President

Reference:

But your power lies in your vote.
When you waste that on sentiment you prepare yourself to bear the consequences.
The moment you vote you exchange your franchise for service, you buy rubbish, you see rubbish.

In other climes even the cost of bread determines whether a government continues or is voted out.
Here we think elections have no consequences.

And to think that is exactly what is going to happen in the wider Nigeria if the APC is elected, cost of living will escalate because the principal's economic ideology is leftist, one of tax and spend, big government and plenty contractors.

Rephrasing what you wrote,
"And to think that is exactly what is going to happen in the wider Nigeria if the APC is elected, cost of living will escalate because the principal's economic ideology is leftist, one of tax and spend, big government and inflated budgets and cost of governance " .

Lots of ignorant people, you guys need to read up about the Lagos environmental law.

What most don't understand is all these people arrested have been issued notices, different court hearing which they ignored, what follows is arrest for contempt of court.

Some are owing as high as 200k, the person besides my house said he paid last in 2020, how on earth will someone not pay waste bill for 2 years they brought notice and he started running helter skelter, those PSPs are private businesses.

All those owing ( especially those with humongous bills) if you know what's good for you before the matter gets to court go and settle with your PSP, if e enter court Lagesc/Kai will enforce ballif can/ will seal your house Lawma the regulatory agency itself won't intervene and trust me nothing absolutely nothing will happen, just noise on Twitter and police Pro will tell you they are within the confines of the law.

When you now get to the court, you see that money on the bill you are avoiding to pay you will pay in full, all those arrested will bail themselves out and you will also pay fine to the court, it's better not experienced oo.

Ignorance is not an excuse and let me shock you, it's not an option to give Lawma PSP your waste, you cannot say you don't want the PSP, that itself is an offence. grin
