Is it PMB that started the projects? Is it not the same about 3000MW generation we have been lingering on since Johnathan? 1 Like |

Because the economy and security of the country are in tatters, these gains can hardly be appreciated even by his party men like myself. Wish he could even resign tomorrow let someone else assume the position. Buhari is tired and out of touch with reality. 1 Like |

Okay, Muhammadu Buhari added 8Twh of electricity. This was far more than GEJ, Obasanjo and Yaradua. Therefore, Buhari is a great and wise leader, and he is so inventive, and so wise that he was able to add 8twh of power in 7 years. Buhari is the greatest leader of Nigeria... All hail the great and wise leader Buhari! Saviour of Nigeria! Meanwhile....South Korea raised its power level by 4.8% to over 500Twh of power in one year...2021 Right. |

Proflere: We also export to Ghana, Togo and Benin, plus Niger, and those export agreements have been there long before 1999. Using power export to Niger as a point to blast Buhari administration with? Wrong point. 1 Like |

jyz200: Actually, we are not doing better. Buhari is starving the power sector of funds by forcing them to charge low prices for power below what it costs to produce. The fact is, if Buhari had been serious, we would have been adding something like 16-30twh of power in seven years. |

With the occurrence. of Covid and the war in Ukraine Power improved during his tenure compared to others. It's just that we have been paying more for it. Re: Electricity Production By Governments From 1999 To 2020 - StatiSense by Nobody: 7:11am On Aug 21, 2022 |
tuoyoojo: 1.The transmission system is in a bad state. It needs fixing. Problem is, it costs a lot of money...far more than what government has. 2.Distribution and generation are not allowed to set prices. Under a riddiculous set of clauses in the law governing their set up, their price is set for them by government. As a result, they run at a loss, government subsides (paid for in part by loans) are not enough, and there is no political will to let them charge cost reflective tarrifs. This means not enough profit, not enough investment...nothing to expand generation and transmission at all. Even if we transmitted all the 13000MW we have and can produce...remember that Lagos alone needs 10000MW for 24 hour power supply, seven days a week, and it needed that in 2010. 2 Likes |
