I saw this on Twitter and I am curious to know how true it is:

Reno Omokri: @renoomokri

Enter any major supermarket in Nigeria. At least 15% of what you will see was imported into Nigeria by @PeterObi. Not manufactured. IMPORTED. If I am lying, I challenge Peter to sue me. And this is the fellow who wants to move Nigeria from consumption to production?

Yes I agree with Reno oh mockery most Igbo business people import rather than manufacture because of the Nigeria business environment and economic policies. Eg. Lack of steady electricity, high cost of petrol, lack of infrastructure...etc. fix these things and watch Nigeria become an industrialized country. 90% being controlled by south easterns.
Nigeria will be yusuful again.

You are complaining that Naira is now ₦705 to $1. How do you think that happened? It is not only Buhari’s fault. Every time your one and only Mr. Integrity, Peter Obi brings a ship loaded with foreign goods into Nigeria, he is driving down the value of the Naira. Importers are killing the Naira and you are there being obedient...

Oga, how has our local manufacturing been supported by this administration? Even our lawmakers rejected Innoson vehicles for top o' the line Toyota SUVs, and ure complaining about a man that made his first million dollars while ur Atiku was still impoverishing Nigerians through customs and ur Tinubu was still coming up in the drug trade. I really hope the change ure getting for all this is going to last ur family forever, because this current crop of Nigerian youths are just like the internet.... they never forget! cool

Obi simply cannot lead by example. Not practicing what he's preaching a typical crooked politician. I say this all the time , he's just an opportunist taking advantage of the cries of the youth, to pretend like he's for the youth . A wolf in sheep clothing. What can he possibly know and do about manufacturing when he's thriving on importation.
Any body can analyze the problem of the country but how many can actually solve the problems.
Take a look at Anambra that he governed .
I'd support Tinubu any day for his visions, Lekki FTZ is enough reason to support Tinubu.

PitObi is the sole importer of Amarula, even when we produce similar liquor like Best creamy liquor

Most of the things he imports can easily be produced , yet he keeps decieving himself

Close your mouth: how much was dollar when he was governor, how much was diesel fuel when he was in power so did he turn Anambra to a producing state?

Rather he brought them beer Company so they can always get high to forget he's a crook stealing their common patrimony.

Anyone that believes that has an IQ that is lower than that of a rat.

Anyone that imports 15% of whatever you see in the market must definitely be a multi billionaire in dollars.

I love how the hatred against Peter Obi is bringing out the real foolishness in some people like Reno Mockery.

Why sue a fool over a frivolous claim? Reno is a fool!

You are deviating, Oga. Our chief concern here is that someone promised to turn a nation from consumption base to production base but he is one of the key people importing into the nation to make more money for himself. How can we trust him to work against his source of income when he gets there? Tinubu's TVC or Alpha Beta has nothing to do with making Nigeria...Haba! Approach a bank bro, at least one of them may loan you some sense. You really need it grin

If its true then it means

1) Peter Obi's source of wealth is verifiable

2) Peter obi pays huge tax to Nigerian government, unlike those that collect taxes.

3) Peter obi is contributing to the growth of the national and boosting international trade.

4) Peter Obi even went further to expand the retail outlet, which also enables Nigerians who produce and package food and other items in Nigeria, to display and market their products at NEXT MALL.

80% of items in shelves in America and UK are imported as well.

For Obi to turn the nation around he must get electricity right, to ensure a competitive price of finished products.

At the NEXT MALL, You will see several made in Nigeria products displayed for sale. He already provided a platform for Nigerian producers to market their products.

From bread, milk, flour, several made in Nigeria beverages.

His was the first governor to patronise and encourage Innoson brands. That initial support, made innoson what it is today.

The Brewery he invested in has the 3rd market share in Nigeria. Till date, hundreds of thousands of Nigerians are employed directly and indirectly by that investment. Both those working directly in it and those retailing and distributing the brewery products.

Just like Amazon, Alibaba, Ebay and the rest.

Of the three top candidate, Peter Obi is the one mostly linked to made in Nigeria products.

He is already in the value chain that encourages production. He does not have to be produce himself, but markets the products produced.

If your aim was to dent his image, you ended up promoting Peter obi as the No 1 marketer of made in Nigeria products .

No, he may not have anything to do with the importation of rice, he is one of them. US dollar is not the strongest, America doesn't have the best economy in the world, but when we talk about those who brought down the value of our Naira through importation of goods, instead of exportation; my clueless brother, your Peter Obi is part of them.

Many of you just jump up and down arguing based on parochial sentiments and primitive tribalism.
I don't like doing this, but did you know that Peter actually lived, worked, made money in the UK... He wasn't buying dollars from your CBN or black market to import stuff. He invested the money he made abroad in the Nigerian economy while your preferred candidates steal these monies and invest them abroad? Someone was busy bringing businesses from abroad with money he made there while another was busy siphoning the money and taking them abroad for investments. How many investments does Reno and his likes have in this country even after making huge amounts from working for the high and mighty?
