Salman Rushdie, the author of the controversial novel, The Satanic Verses, was billed to speak at a seminar organized by a Jewish run organization that seeks to promote liberal idealism. Among keynote presenters was a prominent New York Rabbi. The obscure seminar had the theme of the US being a safe haven for artistic freedom. Rushdie never got to speak at the event as he was attacked by a derranged man as he made his way to the podium.

There was zero security at the event center and guests were not subjected to any screening.

In conclusion, Rushdie's attack was staged and carried out by Mossad in the hopes of blaming Iran and having their news outfit recycle Salman Rushdie's death 24/7 towards demonizing Iran before the US audience and calling for severe sanctions on the Iranian govt thereby scuttling the ongoing nuke talks.
