Have a friend or relative ask you this question while dishing out or buying food. Did you find it offensive or just a normal question ?

Honest moment: when I am asked that, too, and when I know the intentions of the people asking are totally pure, it always make me feel somehow like a beggar, olojukokororo or glutton/atenu, I don't know.

But asking like, "would you like some? Do you care for some?" Sounds...like, okay, I do have a choice.

Although sometimes, when the context is you just returning from somewhere or it's your sibling or mom who prepared food, and they want to know if/when you are ready to eat, the question feels perfectly okay.

But walking on the street, together... mehh.

Imagine being in a foul mood and you're asked that... I will fess search for answer for like 0.0008 seconds, like, 'fk, yeah, I will eat now. Which kind question be that? Why I no go chop?' But that would also mean letting go of my anger.
