A bird strike on an Air Peace flight from Lagos to Owerri has forced the plane to make an airborne return to Lagos.
Confirming this in a statement, the airline declared: “This is to inform the flying public and our esteemed customers that Air Peace flight P47154, which departed Lagos at 12:00hrs today, August 27, 2022, for Owerri, could not land due to a bird strike that got the bird stuck on the left main landing gear.
The strike affected the operating parameters of the landing gear which made the pilots follow regulatory safety procedures by returning to Lagos where they landed the aircraft safely without any incident.
The airline expressed regret for the inconveniences the development brought to all passengers who were affected by it while also reiterating their commitment to upholding the highest safety standards.

so how do they land the plane in Lagos?
can't they do that in Owerri too to Land it safely without coming back to Lagos ..Is there any special instrument in Lagos to Land..

Your observation wasn't disrespectful in the least.

The bird strike probably happened shortly after take-off and prevented the landing gear from retracting into the bay. This situation would prove extremely risky for the airplane to attain high altitudes (risk of decompression, etc) and continue the trip, hence their decision to make a U-turn and land back at Lagos, all while the landing gear was stuck in the extended position.


P.S. The bird's feet look like those of an eagle.
