A client list his car keys (a GLC300) and hasn't been able to find it for a long while now, so we have to replace the key.

Does anyone know anybody that car replace the key??

U have to get the key from a dealer, nobody can make such keys for now, try going to Benz dealership here in naija, they will order it for u from America or Europe

Op, order a complete key fob on Amazon.. You may even get here in Nigeria (not 100% sure)
Get a key programmer to program the key and you're good to go. Funny think is, I have a key programming machine and I've done this a few times for people. Can't help cos I'm not in Lagos and it's not a business for me. Just something I do out of kindness of heart to people that knows my mechanics

GLC 300 Lol! @OP, go to a Benz dealership. You are almost unlikely to find that key fob in the open market for another few years. Fact.

Hmm, I don't drive a benz so I don't know about the availability of that key fob but I just checked on ebay and it's available. Op, check for yourself.

What can be done in order not to be stranded in the future incase similar thing happens

Can a spare be fabricated and keep?

Unfortunately u are talking out of ignorance, it's a fbs4 nobody apart from dealership have the technology to do a AKL(All key lost) some claim to be able to add a spare as long as u still have an original key(at your own risk)

There is no complicating things, when i got my W204 in 2013, it was fact that the key, the EIS and the ESL was not available to purchase or even program. It is now available to install and program everywhere. The newer the Mercedes, the slimmer the chances of getting any part relating to the security system of the car without going through the dealership, after a few years, they are available. Can you send the link to the key you saw?
