GloriousGbola:The Saudis are renowned to be insistent in their pursuit of whatever they want and they do not play fair game in global politics. While they do not have nuclear weapons (I stand to be corrected), they will do everything and anything to have a strong cover/ front for nuclear weapons and protections. The embolden is why I say Trump is not as smart as his confidence presents. Having such sensitive classified documents, some littered on the floor in Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach proves this ignorance to the severity of consequences of those documents even if they were in exchange for cash. |

larride:Maybe if government puts enough checks and balances in place in some of those government owned agencies and ministries, maybe things will change for better . A case study is the Lagos state education sector . I attended a public secondary school back then and I remember how our teachers were notorious for missing classes ; most of the female amongst them have shops where they sell different wares , some of them are into supply business like egg distribution , etc . The men amongst them form partnership where they pull resources together to own private schools and tutorial centres ; some even engage in thrift collection ( Ajo) These teachers who are full time civil servants mostly breeze into the school in the morning to sign attendance registers and then head out for their respective aforementioned side hustle , leaving their primary duty of teaching us to suffer . Many atimes we lose alot of teaching hours to these teachers not showing up. The one’s who come for class while leaving the class will pick some of the students to follow them to the staff room to help them with domestic chores like breaking melon( egusi) …. Yes these teachers bring egusi to school for students to help them break . All of these and more happened back then . In recent years I discussed with a relative who works with TESCOM and I was told all those things are now a thing of the past courtesy of Sarah Sosan taking charge of the ministry when she was Fashola’s deputy governor . They put a lot of checks in place like constant unscheduled visit of education inspectors to schools , instant dismissal of erring Teachers and Also making sure the teachers had a conducive working environment . Principals were sanctioned for any report by a student or parent to the ministry that any school headed by such principal requests for any levy or fee cos Lagos runs free education and the schools get adequate allocation from the government for monthly running costs . Personally I believe humans most times do not always wish to act right except they are forced to. If u put in place a system that identifies and punishes recalcitrant civil servants , then u will witness some of these civil servants adjust well . |

Illimitable:Which is why he has been playing the Trump is coming bad guy card and that is the only thing Democrats have to work on. Listen to CNN everyday for the past 6yrs its been Trump news every night because thats what get people excited. Trump is a polarizing figure its either you hate him massively or love him massively, hardly do we have people that are neutral about him. Unlike Biden for example, I don't like him and I don't hate him, If he runs against someone I don't like I might support him Trump has that deficit on his neck and the whole FBI thing at this point is just a distraction. We need to get the Republican party back in power that is the main thing |

izzou:By Govt I mean every level from FG to Local govt. The waste and inefficiencies that goes on in Local govt is probably even worse than FG only that FG is bigger and have more money to waste Lagos is better than other govt you know does not mean Lagos is efficient as it should be. But 40% looks way better than 5% |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 7:22pm On Aug 31, 2022 |
GloriousGbola:They are all inefficient some of them are borderline "African nation corrupt". Do you think the budget for the Military is commensurate with their output. America has the largest military budget and probably multiple times of the next 5 countries put together(I don't have the exact figure). Its better than what we have in Nigeria but when you interface with them you see the rot and some people just sitting there chopping money There was a time under Obama when IRS was under the spotlight for some misdeed. I think they were targeting Republican organizations, Some of them approving official vacations for themselves outside budget I cant remember the specifics But since its "Our" money it was swept under the rug. If it was Zukerberg or Sage of Omahas money you think you will chop his personal money that way |

BlueRayDick:Thank you for this. I didnt see this before I replied. Lagos just looks better because every other state is garbage. Which is why I always advocate focusing on other states especially those of us who are not natives of Lagos. Lagos 40% is looking like A+ because Oyo Enugu Bauch are scoring 5% |

larride:I dont agree with this. I believe in full privatisation and capitalism. The UK healthcare system. I have never lived there but I hear the time it takes to see a secialist can go into months Human being are human and will be corrupt whether they are Nigerians Americans or Russians if the system allows them Govt services can only work optimally if everyone there is an angel. If you bring Americans to Nigeria within 6months they will start collecting bribes, Why do you think Joe Bidens son in this same America is floating a consulting company and collecting money from Ukraine for many years because he is connected to the big boss, Why do you think Dick Cheneys Halliburton got most of the Iraq contracts. Why do you think lobbying is one of the most productive jobs in Washington DC Ole ni everybody na environment package them |

raumdeuter:They have been hindered to a respectable limit by our strong institutions. The bedrock of any good (not perfect) democracy is the strength of it's institutions. I hope we can continue to put pressure on them to ban the participation of lawmakers in stock trading because it is very unfair and unethical in my opinion. |

this is a meme, but its the reality a health issue is enough to bankrupt you raumdeuter:ibime, we need your input here. full privatization can only work with proper regulation - the other thing that republicans don't like [big government]

izzou:There are community hospitals that cater for the poor and give them free healthcare paid for by govt but if you have ever been there before you will know there is a difference That is like the LASUTH |

GloriousGbola:I prefer a Germany type hybrid system. I have private insurance and have had two knee surgeries on private insurance, but chronic conditions and child/baby natal care are better managed by the NHS. If you want a quick answer to something or a quick operation, go private. If you have a lifelong condition that needs constant monitoring, let the NHS handle it. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 8:34pm On Aug 31, 2022 |
GloriousGbola:You have to pull yourself up by the bootsraps. The govt will just give you bare minimum to survive and for standard care. To get better services you have to pay that will look like world class The doctors pay for their education some doctors have half a million plus in student loans, The equipments that will be used are paid for, the office space is paid for, electricity is paid for If you want the best you have to pay otherwise you get LASUTH standard care |

raumdeuter:I know someone who died in December 2020 due to an underlining ailment she had been managing for a while . Prior to her demise , in the middle of 2020 she was in a critical condition and first cardiologist ( one of the best private hospitals in Lagos , the one Abba Kyari died ) sent their ambulance to her home at the dial of their number cos her company pays them for her health insurance . Unfortunately that December she travelled to her hometown to celebrate the holidays and she fell sick again. They risked her to one of the teaching hospitals in the South-South . She died because they didn’t have oxygen in a Teaching hospital . Oxygen that was even in First cardiologist’s ambulance when she had the same issue earlier in the year . Honestly nothing beats having money to pay for a service from private service providers o |

Don't forget that the Joe Biden that is not divisive gave a speech at the funeral of a KKK member Robert Byrd. Then he also gave a eulogy at the funeral of a segregationist Senator Thurmond. lol The people who still believe the FBI after faking January 6 and the kidnap of Governor Whitmer as well as telling Zuckerberg to censor the Hunter Biden news before the elections, are the ones I am laughing at. People think that the FBI will take pictures of classified documents that will be laid bare with Time magazine copies for effect and then post it lol. Someone even believes that a former president will take documents that are classified (which automatically declassifies them by the way) and it will take the FBI 18 months to try to retrieve them. Hahaha. After all the lies they fed you from 2020 that they have now come to confess they lied about. Okay o. Time will fix it again. Normal levels.

Some users have been attacking Dr. Dipo Awojide for his political choice and even trending ScammerDipo while at it, the ramifications of cyberbullying employed by some will be far reaching because when you push someone to the wall he is within his right to fight back. I urge people to debate the ideas and statements of candidates but don't threaten or abuse others while doing so. |

To even get ur card from the records department u have to get there as early as possible and use the Nigerian way to bypass a whole lot of unnecessary bureaucracies . The whole moving to the different clinics , God help u that u don’t have a connect there who would help u fast track the process ; u will see sick people lying helpless on pavements while those who brought them are on queue in their stead .
