Jodera:For where? Partey is not expected back till third week in September if all things go well... And he might need another one or two weeks more after that to become match fit. So I only expect Partey back in October. |

Man u are really strong defensively but somehow weak upfront. I don't know how they'll be at their home(in terms of crowd ginger) cos their last two matches have been away and I can't use Liverpool to judge them. But we need to be good in midfield in order to push them backwards and capitalize on our chances if we have. Not underrating their attack tho, but if our defence can just hold out with their front three without underrating them, we can limit them. We should try as much as possible not to concede first cos that their defence don kakaraka make I no lie. I suspect, Midfield and attack is very very key in that game |

Jodera:There's nothing in that man u team Our full squad will flog them scatter But the midfield is the issue if we are going to play lonkonga and if odegaard is injured I wish xhaka and zinny combine with odegaard upfront Deadline transfer pain me I won't lie, we are on the right path bar these recent injuries I hope it won't be a major set back But honestly edu and arteta always fvck up at the wrong timing |

Arteta and Edu repeated the same mistake they made in January Releasing players without replacement and we badly need squad depth We have Europa and domestic cup competitions these our line up can't be playing all games plus our midfield is currently limited This is not fair at all they like taking stupid risk playing with our emotions |

ObaIgwe1:Our September fixtures are United (EPL Away) FC Zurich (UEL Away) Everton (EPL Home) PSV (UEL Home) Brentford (EPL Away) Brentford is our last game in the month of September, good thing the game is on the 18th before the FIFA International break. This gives us the needed rest considering we are going to be traveling a lot in the month of September which of course increases the risk of injuries. While it is the early stages of the UEL, we can not afford to lose both games as that will set us back going into games 4-5. It will be interesting to see how Arteta manages the squad during this period. |

Roland17:Honestly I am losing interest in partey He will still go out on injury when he's back I don't know which one is worse between him and tear knee |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 6:04am On Sep 02, 2022 |
Jodera:After last season, I think we all agreed we needed another midfielder; an experienced one with quality at that. I kept harping on the need for that 2nd midfielder. It is quite disappointing, especially when you consider Partey's absence and a lack of another quality midfielder cost us top 4 last season. Now, we are without Partey, Elneny is also out and I am hearing Ramsdale is fighting to stay up. The thing with Partey and his injuries is that they are usually muscular and he requires a lot of time and patience to fully recover. Whenever we rush Partey back, it has always back fired with serious consequences...If he recovers fully he typically returns like he was not gone. I feel like many are getting carried away by Xhaka. Personally, I feel like we are being short changed of a better CM when he plays that role. I am careful not be sound pessimistic because the guys have started very well and Arteta has managed our last 3 games very very well. All in all, my focus is on United. |

iamoyindamola:Everyone in Arsenal knows "it is not a matter of if but when" Partey gets injured. Last season, our top 4 was derailed after he got injured, partly because we mismanaged his previous injuries. We forced him back too early and played him heavy minutes. Remember when Baba finished playing for Ghana, got on the plane, little or no sleep and played the following day for us? Well, he went down during that game and it just got worse from there last season. We all knew we needed another quality midfielder but we waited until the final day to try. |

Roland17:Only God knows how these guys do it They raised our hope only to break it at the dying hours Confidence of the team is low for me Elneny injury is now paining me because he looked more reliable than partey but his injury is more than partey's We might not see him again this season |

iamoyindamola:Lol, I don't think it's wickedness. After watching a clip on skysports where one of the presenters was saying that arsenal really underestimated their "No stance" as they don't need Arsenal's money. Aston Villa is jointly owned by 2 billionaires with them worth around $12bn so what is 25m to them. Except we go for crazy bid, which obviously we don't do, Aston Villa won't be coerced in selling one of their best players and will instead prefer to lose him for free cos money no be their problem. The thing is arsenal wasn't even interested in him from beginning. Na injury to Elneny naim cause all these things if not wetin concern dem with D.Luiz. If he was that important the way they were aggressively putting bids ystdy, arsenal would have wrapped up that position since |

Jodera:Ofcourse we weren't interested if not because of injuries But why allow a good prospect leave for free when you can get 25m and have a replacement already Both villa and leicester are mad they just don't know it yet |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:08am On Sep 02, 2022 |
iamoyindamola:Tbh, I wouldn't have flinched if our squad was full but with the kind of injury here and there, Omo I'm less optimistic. No Partey, no Elneny. Doubts are Zinchenko, Ramsdale and Odegaard. So, who wan come play for us. There's a reason I was saying Midfield is key cos any team that finally dominate the other Will have more chances of winning. With probably Odegaard and Zinchenko a doubt, how we wan take hold Midfield especially if Casemiro starts and initiates attack from deep(he did that effortlessly ystdy during his 2nd half introduction). Omo, if Ramsdale no dey, na Turner wey no dey inspire confidence go keep? The only thing going for us is our strong attack and defence but even the defence will crack without a good confident keeper and a dominated Midfield while the attack will crack if our Midfield isn't pushing. Wetin I dey wait for na Arteta's press conference on our injury update today. Surprisingly, missing out on Luiz no even too dey vex me cos I expected it with the way dem dash Elneny one year contract plus the way they were using him in preseason. I just knew no hope of us getting any more DM and I zeroed my mind |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:12am On Sep 02, 2022 |
iamoyindamola:Lol, I think Villa just wanted to pass a message that they're not a supermarket else I no see anything for their madness. We never showed interest since, immediately we have injury, then there's a "supermarket" available for us where we can just refill ![]() Na when money choke all these club dey do this kain nonsense |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:19am On Sep 02, 2022 |
Roland17:I don't know how they intended to manage Partey this season so that he won't go to injury and how effective Elneny will be for us as Partey's cover when he's being managed. Whatever plan they had, safe to say it has backfired and backfired spectacularly. The hope is now on Sambi to give us 3 points. Xhaka have improved but this coming weeks will be a huge test for Xhaka and Sambi. . Unto Man u tho |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:27am On Sep 02, 2022 |
iamoyindamola:My question is who'll play DM for us in Europa? Obviously it can't be Sambi or Xhaka cos of their EPL engagements. Well, make I see wetin Arteta get on his sleeves You see this our team, e just be like say na... (I no wan use the word curse sha)But it's just annoying. Anytime we're close, we'll always lack that one department or depth that will always always make us fall short During last years of Henry and post Henry time it was defence and GK. Then it was striker Then it was Am Now it's dmf Worst part is that I thought we'll have a very complete squad this season but mehn, e just dey crumble |

Manchester United are really pumped up right now and our perfect start to the season is at risk. With Partey, Mo and Ode probably out, I can only suggest two different options. Xhaka partnering Sambi with Zinch doing the inverted midfield role. Xhaka will be free to join ESR up top. OR White, Xhaka and ESR in Midfield. White dropping to defence while Zinch and Tomi overlap. XHAKA will drop back to Midfield. One thing is sure, our attack should be able to trouble their defence. As for their Midfield, they may likely go with Casemiro,Eriksen and Bruno which I think will work in our favor as the latter two are not press resistant. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 10:18am On Sep 02, 2022 |
Jodera:Yea Elneny is Partey's deputy but his contract is up at the end of the season so getting his replacement earlier is not bad. As for Saka's deputy, I'm not worried about that especially with Nelson staying and Marquinho in the squad though another option would have been better. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by ObaIgwe1: 11:33am On Sep 02, 2022 |
Jodera:I might be wrong but something tells me the plan before hand is to get Luiz for free from next season. Luiz refused to sign an extension with Villa, while Arsenal extended Elneny contract by a year.... I suspect the combined injury of Partey and Elneny at the same time forced them to wanna bring Luiz early but it didn't work. If my thinking is right, Arsenal will let Elneny go at the end of this season and get Luiz on the free and then shake their ass on Villa. It will be tough, but I pray we survive the season.... I really want us beat Man U or at least get a draw. My wish: make Top 4 and win The Europa thing once and for all, cos I don't want us play it again. |

mostob:I feel we planned to get Danilo of Palmeiras at either Jan or next summer but injury to Elneny scuppered the plan. Moreover I thought Elneny's contract is up next season as he signed a 1-year extension As for Saka deputy, we don't know how Marquinhos will play yet. I can't use the u-21 to judge him at all. Except if he shines in Europa will I confidently say Marquinhos is his deputy. As for Nelson, Una wey still dey keep hope for that guy dey try sha. He hasn't impressed me yet one bit, so I dunno how he'll be a viable Saka replacement. Is he even Left footed sef?. Maybe if Jesus can play there, but he himself isn't even left footed |
