A friend that stays in a neighbouring state stole some cupper scrap from a scrap dump. (I didn't know about it) He told me he wanted to come back home and requested for my account details so he could send some money because he couldn't be traveling with a huge cash and his personal account has issues.
This evening, I got the news that the guy has been arrested for theft. Though I've given him his money but I'm still afraid. Can I be arrested because the cash had contact with my personal account? Is unlawful for someone to send money through another person's account? What could my line of defense be should they come for me??

Lawyers in the house please I need urgent suggestions.

Truth is ,they will asked him which account he used,and your name will be mentioned. The police will label you as a partner to the idiot ,you call friend. The police will definitely come for you,if not for anything, but to cashout from you. Get a good lawyer ready and keep some good money ready too..
