Edu wanted Arsenal to have 25 players in the senior squad. He told ESPN Brazil what his plans were for the summer. He said, “I want 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers if we can afford it and don’t have to change the team as much as we have to.” Many things need to be set up, which takes time, so I expect to have a busy summer.” Luiz would have been the 25th player on the team, but the club didn’t get him. This leaves the club short. The Gunners already have injuries and have to deal with four competitions, so it could be more complicated than it needs to be. But what will help Arsenal is that the group has a lot of different skills? Ben White has already shown that he is good at this by filling in at right back and keeping Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is now healthy, out of the starting eleven. When you look at the picture below, it’s clear that the Gunners have three players for each position. But to cover Mikel Arteta, nine of the eleven roles require a player to play out of work (highlighted in yellow in the graphic below). The right-wing position stands out the most. Marquinhos and Reiss Nelson are both much less experienced than Bukayo Saka, and Reiss Nelson is currently out injured for a few weeks. This makes Bukayo Saka look like he is all alone. Arsenal wanted to sign Raphinha earlier in the window, but Barcelona quickly stopped this from happening. Even though the club was linked to more wide players, they never came close to signing one, and Nicolas Pepe was still allowed to leave on loan. Arteta said that the club only wants good players to join this summer. It’s a good policy, and it’s helped the club get where it is in the league. Still, people will ask if they didn’t hurt the potential of their season by not maybe lowering expectations, especially when it comes to players like Tielemans. The latter never impressed the club enough to make an official offer. This weekend, Arsenal plays Manchester United, who have won their last three games. One of the two teams’ winning streaks will end on Sunday, and if it’s Arsenal, the wrong end to the transfer window and dropped points could make things a lot worse. epl247.co.uk

Jodera:The way the players are just packing injuries like freebies is sad and alarming... After I don banter My man united friends.. omo, lemme just lay low till after Sunday cause I’ll not be confident watching the match on Sunday. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 6:00pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
Shegzdave:Lol, the worst part is that these guys will play 90mins finish, clap with the fans after a win, hug themselves after match and you'll think all is well, then boom, you'll wake up the next morning to the news that this guy is injured. You'll be wondering how. Aside Odegaard and Ramsdale, the others no even show any signs say dem get injury during the match. Surprised about Partey own, Zinchenko own, Elneny own and now a White. I'm just keeping open mind about Sunday game as I dey like this. Good thing be say Attack and defence (aside Turner) they give me hope for that formation. Na just Midfield I dey fear small |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Shegzdave: 6:14pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
Jodera:Thats the most suprising thing cause they didn’t show any form of Injury on the pitch asides Odegaard and Ramsdale... I just hope what happened last season as a result of Partey injury won’t happen again considering that the key players in the midfield are out. |

Jodera:I don't know why I'm not worried though. Maybe because of Lokonga. ESR playing the #10 role will even boost our chance of scoring especially as Jesus likes to roam. I think the best tactic is to force them to the wing. Saka vs Malaysia and Martinelli vs Dalot |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 6:56pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
ObaIgwe1:Thanks for this. I feel we have a good squad of young and developing players. The good part is that they are unpredictable in the sense that other teams cannot guage their performance level which means they can spring surprises. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 6:59pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
Shegzdave:The only person I'm afraid in that DM role is Lokonga else I wouldn't be too afraid with that lineup. So yeah, what happened last season because of injury and how it derailed from there won't happen I believe. We're more mature and more compact than last season. And if you notice most of my post match analysis these season, you'll notice arsenal isn't really centred around Partey unlike last season. This season we're more of the collective and that's just the advantage and belief I have going into Sunday's match |

mostob:You mean Fulham? If he did continue then I think that's the reason it was aggravated. But then, if Arteta insists for him to complete the match instead of subbing in Lokonga, it means even Arteta was wary of Lokonga physicality and how he'll fare in that match be that. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 7:11pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
mostob:Na my big fear be that. I believe ESR in that 10 role too, at least he have an understanding with Saka, but will he be intelligent enough to help out Sambi too as Odegaard did? Another person na Turner I dey fear. Omo, if Ramsdale and Odegaard makes it'll my confidence will increase. Saka Vs Malacia... Omo, Saka get work be that oo. Hopefully Tomi starts so that they'll try and overload him. Martinelli Vs Dalot... If Martinelli brings his A game, it'll be a good battle All in all, I feel Man u will try to limit the space we would like to work on and hit us on the counter. If Casemiro starts, na big problem be that cos he can transition attack quickly as well as kill off opposition attack. As for my defence, I trust them. Na make Ramsdale just deh fit biko!! |

Jodera:Based on how ETH spoke, it seems he wants to win this game late, and from the bench. I know our best 11 may need start but this is tactical approach and hence we need be proactive, not naive. Will love to see how Saliba fares vs Bruno. I expect a pk as usual Probably a red too Goal-goal Goal under 30mins. I believe Yasu will come around though. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 8:03pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
Jodera:I think based on how that Tierney injury discovery went in AON, i suspect the theme has been on caution rather than emergence ever since. No risks taken tinz. Meaning Holding will play as a sub definitely. Na that Saka now i dey fear. If they plan for our guy and they succeed, half our game will be on life support mode from fans angle. They got weak spots anyways. Especially conceding. |

Spy360:This is not the season when we should be unpredictable. We should be competing at a consistent and high level if we are to make the top 4. We can’t afford any slips. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 8:20pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
5 games into the new season and our players are dropping like flies. Is there something they are not telling us? Did we over do it during the preseason? This is just too unusual, especially when you consider the length these guys are going to be out. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 8:22pm On Sep 02, 2022 |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:23pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
daveP:Omo, this your bolded no be here ooo. Na fight the two teams wan go fight? ![]() If ETH wants to leave it late in the game for them to win by introducing subs, then that's really bold of him. I mean, this is arsenal that tries to score early. Well let's see how it goes. We don't have much squad depth laidat again, but I hope Eth continues with the winning team that started the last 3 matches |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:33pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
daveP:Hmmmm... If na caution no problems sha but the length of these injuries are troubling. God knows I'm afraid if anything happens to Saka sha. I mean, no real threat at that wing. I remember against Fulham when Martinelli and Saka switched wing when we were looking for the winning goal. Omo, both Martinelli and Saka wasn't at their explosive best cos they couldn't beat their man effectively and weren't even a goal threat. Arteta have to change them back to their original wings before they could be very effective again. It makes me wonder, how will our right wing be if unfortunately something happens to Saka. We just need to be proactive against Man u as you said, but we must watch our back |

Roland17:Lol, the drop in quality between Ramsdale and Turner too much ehh. I no watch preseason match oo, but wetin I watch for highlights, Turner fit give person heartache. I come imagine those wey watch the match and those on the pitch with him. My prayer be say make Ramsdale just dey fit abeg |
