Barring any last minute change of mind, there are strong indications that Dave Umahi, the current governor of Ebony state, will defect to Labour Party before the end of this month. The prelude to this will be the hosting of Peter Obi, the LP presidential candidate in Ebonyi. Recall that Umahi left PDP when it was clear that South East will not get the party's ticket. It is also being speculated that the governor of Abia state will follow Umahi and defect to LP. If these speculations materialises, Dave Umahi will make history as the first Labour Party governor in Nigeria. 3 Likes |
