HAS APC REALLY BEEN BETTER THAN THEIR PREDECESSOR, THE PDP?

Let's take a look at some of the propaganda that brought APC to power . They promised alot, but below are some of the few campaign promises I can recall. Let's see if they have fulfilled them and to check if they deserve continuity

1. PUBLIC DECLARATION OF ASSETS BY ALL POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS

President Buhari during the 2015 election campaign vowed many times that he will declare his assets but entering the final 6months of his 8year tenure, he has not released a comprehensive details of his asset and I guess he won't do that when he leaves office come February 2023. But what do we expect from someone that pretended he didn't have money to buy the 2015 APC presidential form that was sold at just 27million naira despite being a former president. The vast majority of Nigerians contributed money for Buhari to buy the presidential form despite he telling us he took a loan to purchase it.

2. BAN ALL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FROM TRAVELLING ABROAD FOR TREATMENT

President Muhammadu Buhari himself has been the number one politician that has travelled out most for medical treatment during the past 7years of his administration. Not even president Buhari's family receive their medical treatments in Nigeria as evident when his son, Yusuf Buhari was flown in an air ambulance when he had an auto crash with his power bike and sustained some injuries. But in all honesty, the vice president Yemi Osinbajo has been the one to uphold the promise when he did his surgery in Nigeria despite having it at a private hospital.

3. PAYMENT OF N5000 EACH TO 25MILLION POOR CITIZENS

Despite the president and the APC later denying this, it was at the epicenter of their campaign as most Nigerians were using this to campaign for them and it was also seen on their campaign posters and billboards. The APC never denied this during the campaign period though.

4. PAYMENT OF ALLOWANCES TO UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES

No graduates in Nigeria has received any allowance after their National youth service scheme. Infact, the president even cautioned the graduates to look for something to do as even if you have a good decree (degree), you won't find work in his administration. So graduates youths without soft skills and entreprenual training are left to open POS points to sustain themselves.

5. LASTING SOLUTION TO THE EVER OCCURING ASUU STRIKES IN THE COUNTRY

The current APC presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was at the forefront of this farce. He promised that the Muhammadu Buhari's administration will be that, that will be devoid of strikes by ASUU and other tertiary unions. He said four years will be four years and that students won't add extra years in school as a result of strike. But yet this administration has been bedeviled by incessant strikes as ASUU has witnessed about 4 different strikes since APC came to the fore, the latest being the longest as the current strike is 201days old today. Yet there has not been any administration that has been more insensitive to the plight of striking lecturers than the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

6. CREATION OF THREE MILLION JOBS PER YEAR

Instead of creating 3million jobs per year which would have amounted to 21million jobs in this 7th year, the unemployment rate in Nigeria has risen from 13% in 2015 to about 33% in 2022 according to the bureau of statistics.

7. FREE EDUCATION AT PRIMARY, SECONDARY AND TERTIARY LEVELS

Not only has this propaganda failed woefully but the amount of money which the govt has squandered on the glorified feeding program of the FG is a thing of worry. The FG alleged that they spend N12bn monthly on the school feeding program. So imagine the amount that has been sqaundered since the flag-off of the program in 2016. The program which was targeted to enrol more Nigerian children in school has not met it's objectives as the Country currently has the highest number of out-of-school children.

8. MAKING NAIRA STABLE AGAINST THE DOLLAR

The naira has never witness the depreciation in recent times as it has in this administration. It rose from N199 per dollar in 2015 during the PDP to N423 today. It was so worse that the dollar gained against the naira to about N700 during the past month

9. AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION TO REMOVE IMMUNITY FROM CORRUPT ELECTED OFFICE HOLDERS

Not only has the govt failed to sponsor any bill to remove immunity from the prosecution of corrupt officers but the administration of president Muhammadu Buhari has pardoned former Governors Dariye and Nyame who were serving jail terms for corruption during their terms as governors in Plateau and Taraba state respectively

10. NIGERIA MUST NOT BORROW TO FIGHT INSURGENCY

In 2014, president Muhammadu Buhari knocked former president Jonathan over the latter's intention to borrow $1BN to combat insecurity. In his words, he said "for 30months, we fought civil war from here to the east, and Nigeria never borrowed a dime." But this administration has been borrowing continously to fight Insecurity. Security is worse in this administration than that of the PDP, as there have been over 18.000 civilian deaths due to insecurity since May 2015 to March 2022 according to the Nigerian security tracker. Terrorists are now in power and at large in the country

These and many other reasons are why the APC is worse than their predecessors which they so vehemently condemned. What is on the lips of well meaning Nigerians now is that the APC should return us to our pre APC era. But just like the saying "power corrupts", the current crop of leaders are so intoxicated by power that they want to continue unleashing their torture on the citizens. It's now left in the hands of the citizens to choose what is right or continue being fooled and brainwashed.

Yemi Osinbajo would have been the one and very one person
to have ended insecurity in Nigeria but what happened??
things got short changed and then he got cheated and his
mandate stolen from him.

No one is voting that drug baron, oju yobo ancestor called
Tinubu neither would we vote that Cameroonian thief who
looted Nigeria's future fortune and the Chinese Anambra
ambassador who's somewhat clueless.

If Nigeria was a sane Clime election isn't suppose to hold if
Yemi Osinbajo is not in the race. Damnn his mandate fvcking
stolen from him

No basis for comparison.

Life was much more easier for Nigerians prior to the coming of the evil ruling party.

Infrastructure and power, APC is far much better.

Corruption, education, insecurity, economy, APC is far worse.

But generally, Nigeria was much happier to live inside and work in, under PDP.

If PDP can improve their infrastructure performance I will take them over APC. Moh247
