Prior to the incident Bowen was almost going to the ground, he stumbled and struggled to stay on his feet ….. I don’t know how the ref and VAR expected him to have gotten that energy to jump over the on-rushing Mendy higher than that .

VAR just favored Chelsea yesterday honestly .
That's true but he lazily left his last leg on mendy

But the ball was heading towards their direction. Remember that Everton vs Man utd match 2 seasons ago when the Everton player was on the floor in an offside position and the ball found its way into the back of the net ?

It doesn't encourage competition sha. Players should compete for places or they'll start dropping blunders.
To be honest, in any team there's some untouchables until something critical like long term injuries or prolonged drop in form happens.

Even with the great form of Kelleher last season when Allison was injured, when Allison came back he was reinstated his spot as if he never left

This penalty awarded Brighton is something that should’ve been awarded to Saka in our game vs Aston Villa o…..stupid ref and VAR says no .

Me too. I just hope he keeps it simple like he did vs Villa and not get forced to commit errors when under pressure .

Antony starts ahead of Elanga.
Sancho shifts to the left.

Now our defence needs to be very very very very good and wary

Nawa for you o.

Against Villa you said he didn't do much to impress you because he kept it simple. Now that he wants to impress you you want him to still keep it simple?

Your wife dey try abeg. She is wife of the year with a husband like you grin

You just like to quote person out of context sha . Against Villa I was on the thread running commentary as the match was ongoing , several times in the match Lokonga attempted contesting for Aaerial balls but los the duels. The moment he won one, I mentioned it here .

Away from that , When he had the ball he kept it simple and didn’t overdo things and we were grateful for that . He didn’t get into situations where he would be out-muscled and made to chase an attacker drawing him out of position .

Am I wrong to hope he will give a similar performance against a superior opponent in a high profile match ?
