Spy360:
If I ask you what Lokonga would have done to prevent the goals what would be your answer? You should have included that in your analysis.

Look it's easy to find fault.

For the records, the first goal was on Zinchenko and Gabriel- Gab should have stayed his ground and not launch forward exposing himself, Zinchenko should have marked his man but left him to cover Gabriel who has exposed the defense. That first goal was a team error not in any particular player.

The second goal also was a team error because the structure was wrong. They should have sat back in a double pivot of Lokonga and Xhaka but both forayed and exposed the defense the moment the ball was lost. Lokonga losing the ball is not the problem, but that the positional structure was wrong. That one is on the manager for me.

The third was bound to happen after the manager also sent forward players in an attempt to rescue the game.

At 1-1 in the 60something min, why push for a winner in an away game against a top side and exposing the entire team and scattering the structure? That's pure arrogance and inexperience.

You all know how I love Arteta but I will say what I observed. No sentiments.
I agree also add stupidity to it
That's not all he went for all with the mumu sub to further expose the back

But he was a spectator yesterday and not part of the defense. Na your logic I use ooo, you asked me to be logical.
Lol, you'll have to name one individual error he did na not the error of defence.

If you blame the defence for the goals scored, fine, but singling out only Gabriel is nothing short of agenda na grin

And please I'm not condemning Lokonga saying he had a bad game ystdy. No!!
I'm just saying his defense frailties was exposed ystdy as Ten Haag smartly capitalised on it
I don't know why this is so hard to accept. Lokonga is not a starter option when it comes to games vs Top 6. Elneny is even preferred. Simple.

I can bet you that if it was Tottenham, Kane and Son for don roast us cos na Kane go enter that DM zone and be distributing passes to torment us.

I rewatched the clip. Zinch has some blame. His back was to Antony. The confidence for that suggest he thinks Gab was setting an offside line already. Even if that wasn't the case, he was still very far from Antony. If he was closer, that pass would be contested easily by Zinch. But see the option Zinch went for when Gab was already there. Naaaah.

Tierney will never do that!!

Body language of Rams....he saw the leg movement of Antony and my goodness, his reaction is not the best.

Then that high line that Exposed Saliba, if Elneny was on pitch, Saliba won't really be saddled with much. But i prefer to say it than Absolve blame. The pace towards that wasn't good.

Overall, Ramsdale was shaky. See the nonsense pace that almost led to another goal. cry

even me was surprised about the way Arteta panicked and put just put 3 subs disrupting the flow of the game. I don't know if it's arrogance but it's real stupidity.

The entire defence all share the blame imo. White lost concentration more than twice to Gab and Saliba far off, to Zinch for that first goal.

And look at the red shirts that caused all of that.... Just 3. 3!!!!

Only conclusion to take is the DM role was no where for us yesternight. Simple. No be top 6 starting shirt we go use develop Lokonga.

Lol... Gabriel is better and more comfortable than Mustafi. Like I said, Mustafi gives palpitations, Gabriel doesn't so it'll be very very unjust for me to use same stick I use for Mustafi to flog Gabriel. It doesn't work that way.

If you say we need better person than Gabriel, maybe you'll have a point but not placing Mustafi and Gabriel in the same bracket like say dem be mate

it's not about giving away the ball. Lokonga hardly gave away the ball ystdy sef aside for the 2nd goal which was punished.

I don't have any problem giving away the ball especially if it's not at a dangerous place. The issue I have with Lokonga was leaving him DM duties to go play attack which you guys capitalised on well. For all the ball Mctominay lost ystdy, he was never found wanting defensively
This is more of an Arteta problem. Just a simple instruction from him will make Lokonga stay back. Maybe he was encouraged to add bodies to the attack. On another day, it may have worked.

Lol, I don even forget tottenham sef. Kane go us us do shege if Lokonga play that DM role. Ordinarily, na wetin him dey do sef grin

As for that 1st goal, I was surprised. I mean, Antony have already adjusted his body that he wanted to place it at the far corner yet Ramsdale still dive the other way. Maybe it's just a normal reflex a GK always undergo, who knows(easier said than done right)? But then, I won't blame him for any of the goals. It's easier for the players to score that than for Ramsdale to save those ball

Ramsdale wasn't shaky sha, aside from that error, he was good.

I think the defence was all over the place ystdy especially as we paraded a weak DM against a good runners and passers of the ball. The defence was really exposed ystdy Tbh.

Lastly, Our best bet is Tomiyasu. What we were missing ystdy in attack showed as White no be am. He'll give us that stretch we need and he has that understanding with Saka.
And yes, Zinchenko was partly exposed, the defensive securities of Tierney wouldn't have made that happen.

This is not about staying back just for the sake of it. It's about becoming positionally aware defensively in that back he stays. Someone who is meant to screen the backline should be ready to track any runners, read danger before it happens and snuff out attack before it becomes dangerous mostly by positioning and that's what he lacks. The first goal conceded, he didn't even attack yet Bruno pounced on his Defensive frailties to get in behind him into a dangerous zone. Person like Elneny or Partey would never let that happen.

He redeemed himself with a goal plus we one. Even at that I still criticized him that day but it won't be much cos he redeemed himself. Have Mustafi ever redeemed himself when him Fvck up?

As for ystdy, Lokonga was found wanting. I would surely blame who was found wanting. It's that simple

The most significant error came not from the players but from your manager. He is a very good coach and i think he will only get better but he made a couple of tactical errors yesterday.

1) Changing formation to a more attacking formation when it was 1-1 which played into our hands. You guys were dominating possession while keeping things reasonably tight at the back. If he had persevered with that formation and just taken off tiring players the game would have ended in either an Arsenal win or a draw.

2) Falling for the rope-a-dope when your back line moved even higher up the field in the 2nd half after Ronaldo came on. They felt safe because Ronaldo does not have pace forgetting that that change allowed Rashford to execute his usual out to in left wing run behind the high line.

That’s because Gabriel hardly gets exposed thanks to the midfield.

Reason I said Gabriel wouldn’t have done better in that situation considering his errors despite playing behind a more stable midfield. This is not hard to understand.
This was I what I pointed out with Emery’s midfield but peeps were trying to shield Guen while pinning blame on the defense instead.

Teams spent most of the 90mins bombarding our defense back then, FFS those Scummies hardly played in our half yesterday the few times they threatened they scored. Very disgusting!
you are blaming Lokonga for him but suddenly think he’ll do better behind Guen and Xhaka. The joke is on you.

That higher line plus the 3 subs change and disrupted everything. I agree he was stupid to make those 3 panicked subs as that exposed us to unnecessary counter..

Let's get this straight. Mustafi have been very useless since during Wenger's time aside from the first season oo(by half of the season after his injury, he was even showing some stupid traits). Even during Emery's first season that we finished one point off 4th position, Mustafi was still useless as it was Sokratis and Kos that was Manning our defence. It was just the Emery 2nd season that our Midfield turn expressway which eventually led to his sack and that's just estimately 6months or less

Don't coverup Mustafi uselessness under Emery last gory 6 months in charge as if he wasn't causing palpitations before then.

When will Arsenal clear Gabriel

The problem y’all have is you Stan players and use perception not stats to attack others you don’t Stan. With Mustafi and Luiz it was their fault despite playing with Guen and Xhaka despite the rubbish midfield. But with Gabu it’s either Partey’s, Lokonga or Xhaka’s fault. Gabu’s awareness and decision making is really poor, for someone that’s hardly pressured.

It’s like comparing a goalie that plays at the bottom half with a shitty defense in front of him with one at the top half with a strong defense in front of him.

Per pressure faced, Gabu has failed woefully.
You have lifted the opinions of someone else from another website to support your agenda of course but have you cared to watch the replay of that 1st goal again and compare it to what you attached?

Gabu left his position to cover a free Bruno, Zinny did the right thing, which is to invert into Gabu’s position, what the hell was Martinelli doing? From the break of play Martinelli was seen just strolling, he was the closest man to Bruno as the ball got to Bruno from Eriken.. Martinelli was supposed to provide cover for Zinny, it is basic defending.

Anthony became open after Zinny went to cover Gabu.

Mustafi left Arsenal and was without a club before Schalke picked him up.. We all know how that ended with Schalke fans chasing him and Mecho

He is just 30 years old and now playing in La Liga Division 2.. Division 2 at 30 for a defender! That is who I am supposed to lose sleep over. Shouldn’t that tell you all that you need to know? That is who I am supposed to compare Gabu to because he played behind Xhaka/ Willock/ Guen
