APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has been on the national scene for well over 30 years. There are three things I used to think I knew about Tinubu's personal life, that today have been shown to be lies.

1. Mother - I have always thought that late business mogul and President of Nigerian Women Marketers Association, Mogaji Abibatu, was Tinubu's mother. The woman was always portrayed as Tinubu's biological mother, and even when she died a few years ago, Tinubu and his children were listed as her child and grandchildren. However, late Afenifere Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, made it public in 2019 in an open letter that was widely published, that Tinubu's real mother died in Iragbiji and Tinubu did not come for her burial so that people would not know its his mum. He sent emissaries to have her buried instead

2. The Tinubu Family - I used to think that Bola Tinubu was a member of the famous Tinubu family of Lagos. However, a few months ago, the family published their genealogy book and Bola Tinubu's name was not in it

3. That Remi Tinubu was his his only wife- late Afenifere scribe, Yinka Odumakin, made it known in open letter that Tinubu's first wife died in 2019.
