Peter Obi after claiming that he made his own money has revealed that he inherited about $170 million US dollars from his parents and that the money has grown to about $561 million dollars. Peter Obi said this in response to a question on “The candidate”, an Nta presidential program. Peter Obi was asked why he invested $30million of Anambra State funds in a company owned by him. In response peter claimed the company belonged to his parents and that because he knows the future of this company, he had to invest 15% of the company’s shares at $30million for anambra people and 85% remained with his family. He also explained that there has been a 3.3% growth that has seen anambra state’s 15% share value hit $100 million dollars whereas that of his parents gone up to $561 million dollars.

He was no longer self-made as being touted by his supporters but confessed with his own mouth to have inherited millions in dollars from his parents.
Obi invested state's funds in his family business, thereby enriching his family with state's funds. Same he did with Fidelity Bank by ensuring all state's monies and transactions were lodged in Fidelity Bank. The bank was a conduit pipe for PDP elites to perpetrate financial misappropriation. Remember the former MD of Fidelity who was caught in the web, using Fidelity Bank as a conduit pipe for Madam Madueke's loot. He indicted Peter Obi as an accomplice.

Too many posts about Peter Obi on Nairaland these days, whether positive or negative will really boost his politcal career. That's how Buhari won in 2015 with many negative and positive posts about him here.

Nigerians are known to always support whoever is consistently being attacked.

Till today, Obi cannot clarify the events that led to the death of his father. His father was said to have been killed by a rival drug gang and thrown into the river.

Op, Obi is self made even though he inherited some wealth from his parents.

He started trading from school, as a student. He combined academics with trading business which affected his academic performance at UNN.

Meanwhile he had a rich father who died and willed most of his wealth to him even though Obi had already acquired his own wealth made from his personal trading business.

Davido is self made even though he has a rich dad who will still will some of his wealth to Davido as one of his sons when he dies. That doesn't take away the fact that Davido worked hard to become the celebrity music star he is today. We have lots of other music artistes who were born into rich families yet they didn't attain Davido's level in music.

You're a big liar. His father died and willed most of his wealth to him? Lol.
Do you even know how old he was as at the death of his father?. Do you know that Obi was the youngest of his siblings in a family of more than 7?.. How would he have had the most willed to him ahead of his elder brothers?
Even though there was controversies surrounding the death of his father, no one could tell who gets what unless you talk as though you were their family appointed Administrator.
The comparison with Davido was lame, given the fact that Davido's career was heavily influenced by his father's wealth. Davido couldn't have had that much massive push for his music without any record label. He had everything going for him because he had the support of his father.
As for Obi, if his claims were true, then he isn't self-made. If he had inherited such a fortune at a younger age at the time of his father's death, it therefore means that whatever he had become was by the wealth of his father. Becoming a chairman of a bank was as a result of how much he could afford to buy as much majority shares of the bank, which his father's wealth afforded him.
His family businesses and money were his backbone and as a politician, he further enriched his family businesses through state's funds.
You can read from his confession saying his family networth had increased to $561million.
Typical!

Obi said he inherited $ 170 million from his parents, meanwhile his supporters are saying he was self-made ( started from the scratch). Who is lying here, Obi or his supporters?
I have never believed in Obi, he says one thing today and says another, tomorrow. Dude is a compulsive liar to the T.

Obi did inherited wealth from his father but he started working hard as a trader even while schooling at UNN when his father was alive.

You are right that his father's wealth contributed to his immense financial success of today but make no mistakes, he was working hard on his own, even as a student which contributed to his poor academic performance at UNN cos he was trading and schooling at the same time which I also did even though I had comfortable family.

Its typical and inborn most times.

As for stealing Anambra State fund, Obi is spotless on that aspect as he has come out severally to tell anybody with such knowledge to come out or sue him.

Obi is an exceptional politician, something rare among Nigerian politicians and reason no single politician or reputable critic of Peter Obi have seen any dirt on him to pin him down with, all they keep telling him is that he should forget 2023 and wait for his turn, that he is good but that 2023 is not his turn.

Only penniless, unemployed and underpaid APC online political urchins on Nairaland say bad things about Obi. Tinubu is the father of propaganda and dirty politics and he and his squad haven't found a single dirt on Obi, that should ring bell to you his lapdogs cheesy

What was he trading as a student?.. Was he importing boiled eggs from India and selling to Lagos from his school in Onitsha?
As much as was obvious, he had older siblings who graduated from school with better grades than the rottenhead called Obi.
He is the youngest, his older siblings would have been managing the family business long before he did. So, what was his excuse to have graduated with a pass in a course as inferior as Philosophy.
The only advantage he had ahead of his siblings was the fact that he forayed into politics which eventually paved way for him becoming a Governor, a huge opportunity he had to invest government funds into his family businesses and further enrich his family.

If Obi said this, I don't know what to say. He is not the firstborn in the family to inherit such from his parents. The parents ran a restaurant and supermarket market in Onitsha called Nando about 30 years ago.

I can see that you are just one of those young boys trying hard to be relevant by attacking Obi.

Please do yourself some good and make research about Peter Obi.

Peter Obi was already super rich before he joined Anambra politics to context for Governorship.

For your info, Anambra is the most difficult states to govern in Nigeria because they have all manner of rich people you can ever think of.

Obi was already a billionaire before he became Governor.

Your senior urchins have dug and dug and they found nothing on Peter Obi and reason they resorted to calling him IPOB and the use of tribal politics against him, so quit wasting your time okay? Bye
