President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Abuja awarded Nigerian citizenship to 286 nationals, urging them to be good citizens of the country to enjoy all the rights and privileges bestowed on them.

"You have pledged your allegiance to Nigeria. When you give your love and loyalty to Nigeria, she returns her love and loyalty to you," the President told the awardees during an event at the State House.

The President explained that out of the 286 foreign nationals presented with certificates of Nigerian Citizenship, 208 received certificates for Naturalization, while 78 got certificates by Registration.

He urged them to make positive and useful contributions to the advancement, progress and well-being of the different communities they reside, adding that as citizens they must be in accord with the national ethics and code of conduct.

"You are expected to abide by the ideals and Institution of the Nigerian National Flag, Anthem, Pledge and respect for all Constituted Authorities.

"All those concerned with Immigration matters are to offer our new citizens quick legal identification. Also, their Local Governments should assist with their integration in the local community to enable them enjoy all the entitlements of a Nigerian citizen," he said.

The names of those people conferred will be mainly Chadians . Nigeriens . Malians etc. Those are the people Buhari said he is welcoming to Nigeria from the Sahel some years ago.

I read the title of the thread and ask myself, who in their right mind will want to be a Nigerian? Given the economic hardship and social injustice going on, then I remember Venezuela and Lebanon and I have to admit Nigeria is way better.

Only in Nigeria will a President be the one conferring foreigners with citizenship titles and even stooping so low to take pictures with them just to score useless political point angry





How many Nigerians that became citizens of UK, US, Canada, etc met with UK Prime Minister or US President or Canadian Prime Minister to receive their citizenship passport or whatever?



These lowlifes elected by uninformed Nigerians keep disgracing Nigeria thinking they are scoring political points, what a shame cry



And the same unfortunate Nigerians are gathering, plotting to elect another sect of criminals and terrorists to continue destroying the fortunes of Nigeria, and after they have collected peanuts to elect criminals as their leaders, they will start trooping to their prayer houses and so called worship centers to pray to their imaginary gods to better their lives and next they are saving all their life's income to bribe their ways for foreign country visas to migrate to nations built by sensible leaders elected by reasonable citizens to go and work like slaves till they die and their kids continue from where they stopped.



Blacks, especially Nigerians are shameless angry
