Is Keyamo now assigned to tackle Obi? |

rusher14:. So you don;'t support subsidy removal. Right. How can Labour which has always opposed the removal of oil subsidies suddenly support a candidate who says he would remove subsidies when till today if you attempt to remove oil subsidies, the same Labour would protest and ground the country to a halt?[/quote]Because at the end, the subsidy eats into the budget...and by extension into the salaries of Labour union workers. At the end, the NLC is going to face the truth. Either they support subsidies...and by extension balloning deficits, and more loans, and more debts...or they support removal of subsidy, and by extension, a brief period of high prices, but their salaries get paid, with the possibility of more increases to assuage subsidy burdens...and long term more jobs. Let them choose their medicine.... Kenya just did a partial removal of subsides...not because Mr Ruto is madt, but because it is costing them far too much in money. |

rusher14:Why isn't food and other essentials cheap in Nigeria under this administration? |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by Eriokanmi: 5:18pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
I don't need to waste my time on apc the liar. They deceived Nigerians with so many fake promises. They once claimed subsidy was a scam. The last time I checked, they still pay in billions weekly. They protested when Jonathan announced price hike on pms, but same accuser has increased pump price a couple of times in less than 7 years. Mtcheew |

Landowner101:Cost of food has gone up.worldwide. Some of you need to face facts. Nigeria's inflation rate despite being high is much lower than most developing or most Sub-Saharan nations. |

rusher14:1.Meal vouchers are not given to all UK children...they are given to families that qualify. And they have to be below a certian income level. And they tax far more people than they do in this obodo Nigeria to pay for the thing. Not by selling oyel to pay for it. 2.We subsidised essentials in this country before...and by the year 1985, there was scarcity of all of them...because we no longer had the money to pay for subsides due to the oil boom collapse of 1982 |

Kasssandra:I'm in total support of the removal of subsidies. Even as I disliked the Jonsthan government, it was one policy i supported. Guess what? Labour leaders hate the idea. How else would their palms be greased? |

mrvitalis:How about the investments Peter obi made on behave of anambra when he was a governor faring today ... that is the man you want vicious Nigerians to trust with Nigeria, a man's whose success reach as never extended beyond his business & himself. Peter obi wants to remove subsidy so he can gather enough funds to re-invested in brewery again abi obedient can't keep dreaming |

APC government has failed Nigerians. What can Tinubu who is the national leader of APC offer? NOTHING.
|
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by Nobody: 5:23pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
rusher14:Then Obi should make some sense to you, while your government is complicit in the greasing. Since APC did not have the cojones to remove subsidy completley in 2015.. By now, we would have had some working refineries, and more jobs. |

The irony is that an Anti-Corruption Crusader using APC as vehicle became President and now the Virtual Clone has no say in how the country is run and the Cabinet of Federal Executive Council is controlled by Fraudsters and their allies. Oil theft, bunkering and Drugs is their reason for holding Nigeria Political Power. Because with Political Leadership they control the shipping of drugs , bunkering, and even control the military and police as their sniper squads. DSS and EFCC are just their vehicles for Threats and Victimization. Keyamo is now a billionaire and is daring everyone, wow. Small Keyamo is now feeling classy. Hahahaha. We have people like Ngozi Iweala, Pat Utomi, Soludo, Falana, Peter Obi, Akinwumi A. Adesina, Datti, Wole Soyinka and all the mentioned are expected to be on board with Peter Obi because he belongs to that class, yet a clever nonentity like Keyamo is practicing a loggerhead checkmate betwenn NLC and LP and Obi. What low livers like Keyamo needs is understanding what the Nigeria National Anthem says 'Arise Oh Compatriots, Nigeria's call 'OBEY". Nigerians have finally Decided to Obey - the Obidients represent that Answer to our country. This is not an Election, it is a Revolution like never, Egyptian type Revolution has started. Rig election or not, Peter Obi will be our President, otherwise, we shut down the entire country and rebuild again. |

rusher14:You mentioned it in a comment justifying subsides of essentials. Which you implied should be done for all Nigerians As you and I know, it isn't possible. We don;t have the money to do so. |

When Buhari talked about removing the same Subsidy, did the Organised Labour and the NLC complain about it? Did they protest? .. Why is this confused Buffon bringing them into the subsidy topic now? |

| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by rusher14: 5:28pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
Kasssandra:I did not imply it should be for all Nigerians. My argument was that subsidies are not for luxuries but for essentials. I gave an example of how it is provided for the less privilege in UK. You do not subsidise luxuries, instead you tax them. |

Kasssandra:You are talking absolute tosh. Can't you see the irony of Labour the most vociferous opposition to removal of oil subsidies suddenly for the sake of power be the champions of the same subsidies. In any case, I'll hang back because I'm 100% sure Obi would not win. |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by Nobody: 5:33pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
Eriokanmi:Yes, because when Nigerians say subsidy is a scam, they mean that the government should 'cut the corruption in the subsidy' not remove it. APC played on that to get elected. Ultimately APC is made up of Nigerians, most of whom DO not suppot subsidy removal. They protested when Jonathan announced price hike on pms, but same accuser has increased pump price a couple of times in less than 7 years. Mtcheew1.Yes, they protested. So also did most Nigerians. Even PDP, GEJ supporters were opposed to subsidy removal. 2.I am going to say it again. Most Nigerians don';t support subsidy removal. Even the one Buhari is doing...the partial subsidy removals he does....which reflect as an increase in prices...is used as evidence of how evil he is by most of his opponents. 3.The thing is, you guys use fuel price increases as a means to hit whichever government in power does it. Because you really don't want to buy fuel at market price, you want it subsidised. If your side does it, it is ok 4.I hate to defend Buhari...but the price increases is necessary. If he had kept fuel at N87 per liter...by now we would have been spending all our budget to pay for subsides, and have been in an even bigger debt than what we have. Just as if Jona had allowed kerosene and diesel subsidy to remain instead of removing them in 2013, we would have been spending all our budget money by now paying for subsides... 5.Ideally, what Bubu and GEJ and many Nigerian leaders past wanted to do is completely remove subsides. But Nigerians are opposed. Meanwhile subsidy costs keep on rising...so they have to do partial removals so as to ensure that there is still some kudi leftover to pay for things, and to keep us from having a deficit that becomes bigger than the actual budget. Now, do you support subsidy removal? |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by Nobody: 5:34pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
rusher14:Whichever Nigerian leader wins next year....he or she has to remove subsides completely. |

If this same administration had done the needful by having the will power to repair and build new refineries from 2015,we would not be experiencing an inflation in the price of aviation fuel where a single trip by air attracts more than 80k! If PMB had dedicated resources from the beginning of their administration to ensure refineries are working instead of resorting to blame games, there would have been nothing like fuel subsidy by now and diesel that was 230 per litre last year wont be selling for 700-900 naira! |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by rusher14: 5:35pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
Kasssandra:If Tinubu wins, Labour would oppose it. If Atiku wins, Labour would oppose it. If Obi wins, I still think Labour would oppose it. |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by Nobody: 5:37pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
rusher14:No, we don;t need subsides in any form...unless , like the UK, everyone here pays taxes. Nigeria has a poor tax to gdp raito...that;s a big reason why we cannot afford subsides on anything. Yet we do subsidse education, power, petrol, and health.....from oil money and the poor revenue we get from taxes...leading to issues with our budget, and more debt. If you want subsides in this country to work...then everyone..including herdsmen and farmers, and street traders, has to pay taxes to the federal government on top of the state and LG taxes. Any other way does not work. Even countries like the UK have debt issues from subsides, on top of their high tax revenues. |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by rusher14: 5:37pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
openmine:You cannot repair our refineries. By now this should have been clear to all. The solution is to sell them off to private investors but I'm sure Labour would oppose the sale. |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by Nobody: 5:38pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
rusher14:Because they can't see how subsides are damaging the economy. Which is one reason why I don;t support APC or PDP or even any of the parties...none of them wants to remove subsides. But the thing is, whatever Labour says, we have to. Your tinubu better support subsidy removal. So should atiku and obi. Forget labour. They are not always right. |
| Re: Subsidy Removal: Keyamo Tackles LP, Obi Over Proposal by rusher14: 5:39pm On Sep 17, 2022 |
Kasssandra:Are you reading for the sake of understanding or simply to oppose? Can you tell me where I promoted subsidies? I simply responded to the issue of subsidising of luxuries which should never happen. If anything should be subsidized, it can only be essentials. |
