I've been noticing something about Martinelli.

Since he started playing alongside Jesus, he has been playing like person wey take 2 wraps of weed before match. He seems more explosive this season.

Omo, Jesus is the definition of a complete 9. He can wriggle his way out of trouble, he can score when presented with opportunity, he can score with his head ; has good ball control, he's a threat in the air and can press for 90 minutes.

Not necessarily because he plays alongside Jesus, but his game has improved greatly. He seem to have understood the premier league better and now knows when to run at a defender or cut the ball back. I thinks he's been putting in extra shift

How sir?
Today since the beginning of the season that I saw Saka not just hugging his line but drifting into the AM position , sometimes Viera is ones the wings too. To me , that wing was more actively involved today

wow... I noticed the same too. I think his ability to play as a winger too really helped.

He has already. He was always drilling himself on shooting with both right and left legs during the break. I don't know what is wrong with him now.
He needs to cos that's what is really lacking in Odegaard's game.
Omo, Viera ball for us today sha

Partey brings that necessary control and game management whether we are leading or looking for goals. Very necessary.
I tell you. The maturity, decision making and composure in his game is too much.

We just need another person that can play CDM like him let Sambi settle with Xhaka as his deputy

My brother, Uncle Xhaka keep surprising us everytime. See how calm and organized his game was, He was not just a fine player but a true leader today. I will not lie, Captain looks good on him.

Absolutely a good deputy to Odegaard. Am I the only one who feel that He made Saka to be more expressive too?
Xhaka game have improved and I'm just loving it. He might not so that fancy display or sort but you'll always feel his impact and presence in games. This season sef, the way he's gone a level higher in performance, I'm not sure I've ever commended him frequently as I'm doing. While I'm happy for his performances, I'm so much more happy for Arteta for unleashing his best version for us while showing us he's not a liability. We're now seeing the real Switzerland Xhaka as we're mostly expecting .

As for the bolded, you noticed it too? The way Viera and Saka do interchange was a joy to watch. Sometimes, Saka will come infield and Viera will go to the wings, while other times they'll reverse the role again, this make the job very very difficult for their Lb. Noticed how most of our RHS of attack was used today unlike previous matches where it was mostly on the LHS. Today's match it seemed somehow to like 50/50 and I'm loving it grin

I'm glad we won oo. I didn't expect us to make mincemeat out of Brentford cos they were somehow toothless today. It just shows the extent to how these boys have grown in mentality

As for Fabio goal, it's great to open one's account with such belter. No Gk is ever catching that

Omo, Jesus really fit our style of play diee.

He's the kind of 9 where one can't really complain about an aspect of his game

Nice match today....

We're so lucky to have Saliba and Gabriel. They're the true definition of what we call spine.
This our defence ehh, na strong roadblock. Ivan Toney run sotey him tire. Mbeumo run sotey my guy eye turn am.
Speed, Jam-body, ruggedity, those guys go Man up to you.

Plus the fact that Partey no dey even give space for their Midfielders to dey throw correct pass, instead na hopeless pass into space, you go understand why the duo of Toney and Mbeumo frustrate today grin
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 10:55pm On Sep 18, 2022
There's one thing I always notice and love about our press. Once opponents holds the ball in order to attack, 3 players will surround the opponent at somehow like the angle of 60° apart. This forces the opponent to either pass it towards the edge of the pitch (throw-in side) where we can easily win the ball or nullify the attack or they'll be forced to go back.

I must say, our press have been so so commendable and this is what makes us dominate games as we easily gain the ball back. Kudos to Arteta and his management for this and long may it continue!!

COYG!! cool

On this thread I always say, Partey is in a class of his own. He does his work so elegantly. A healthy Partey will walk into any midfield of the traditional 4, no questions asked.

I didn't expect the score line. Was expecting Goal-goal.

What an opener. The buildup to the goal is reminder of one of the finest transition goals of the Emirates era, under Ozil-Bellerin that year. Opposition didn't even touch the ball leading to Viera's goal. Not one touch. Only that the passes were more.

Pep has dropped 4points compared to our 3.

Isn't it kinda too coincidental that Pep and Arteta now have pure no.9? grin

Seems Pep was not seeing what MA was seeing while at Etihad. For him to prioritize Jesus proves that. Then Pep goes for his own pure 9 in Haaland.

Or two of them did some back door swap, cos i recall the noise at Emirates for Haaland. Na 50m las las Pep get am. Imagine.

Either way, both Master and Apprentice get pure 9 in same window is more than coincidence to me.

Dunno if we are ready for a double GA for Saka in all competitions, esp EPL.

Lol, are you saying we had a shot in getting Halaand? If that's the case, I don't think so.

My main happiness is that we are able to get our striker when he was available and when we really needed him.

I don't really see it as coincidence sha cos heading into this season, everyone knows that arsenal needed a striker since both of our main strikers where gone. Same thing with Man city who needed a striker this season to complete them after missing out on Kane last season. So it was always expected both teams fill that void.

I'm just so glad we got Jesus, even though I know Man city won't miss him grin
