He's doing well in life. That's all that matters.

So he would even be better than Tinubu and Obi combined
I am referring to our dancing senator who suddenly got all his papers sharp sharp with different names and peculiar order

Yes, they said court can't force them to teach.
So whats the use of court then. If court orders a governor to vacate his seat, He can also say court cannot force him

You are the one attaching a particular field to a degree. I am saying a degree is fine.

OBJ isn't an economist, but he's educated to see potentials in Okonjo, Soludo etc. Do you think an SSCE holder would have seen that?

Or Tinubu's experience and success in identifying potentials to run Lagos has nothing to do with the fact that he had a degree?

There is a difference between a degree holder and an SSCE, even if you don't give them questions relating to any field. Their thought process is not alike.

Na Nigerian educational system cause am sha.
I may be wrong but I don't think obj got his bachelor's until after his tenure as president. His highest degree during his presidency was his FSLC.

We don't want people to engage in debates, and we also don't want to set a threshold for those that are supposed to contest for elective positions. How then, are we supposed to access candidates? Do they become elected officials simply off populism and shouting AFeeSEE and FeeDeeFee?
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 6:25pm On Sep 21, 2022
So we're now comparing Donald Trump that we cannot count how many times he engages with electorates to candidates in Nigeria that are actively dodging public scrutiny?

The links you posted gave specific reasons why some candidates are choosing to ignore debates, and if you think about it, there's some logic to it. Compare that with the reason Tinubu gave for dodging public scrutiny, that he's already a popular candidate; therefore he can do whatever he likes cheesy

Well na rallies be the koko now, we go still see people dey defend dodging rallies.

raumdeuter:
Debates are proving to be unnecessary even in the US. In 2015, Donald Trump skipped a Republican party debate to go attend a rally and he still won conveniently

Below are links showing many Republicans are ignoring debates and doing rallies instead. As long as their message get to the people not just an opportunity for grand standing on TV

He's stylishly creating an excuse for Tinubu, Incase he pulls out of the debates.

You see how wicked and evil these people are?

Dayo is already creating an excuse for Tinubu Incase Tinubu rejects the idea of participating in a debate.

Pointing out the few cases where debates haven't been held as if 2 WRONGS make a a right.

I keep saying these people are DEMONS.

This much is clear. If Tinubu comes tomorrow and says his health now allows him participate in debates, they'd come and support attending debates.

Tinubu has been making many public appearance for years and even recently like 2 weeks ago gave a speech at Matthew Kukahs birthday.

Campaigns will be starting soon and Tinubu will be going to multiple rallies. He just does not have to go to your own type of engagement

He wants to engage electorates and he can engage them whichever way he wants. whether na debate, rallies, townhalls, close door meeting with community leaders, or Social Media If he doesn't satisfy you the way he engage you can choose not to vote for him

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:51pm On Sep 21, 2022
For those that make their voting decisions off debate, it matters, and with us starting to demand more from elected officials, debates and the likes will matter even more. This is not to say debates will become the ultimate decider either, even in the US, attending/performing well in debates is not all that matters.

The problem be say you're likely to find more people like this among SSCE holders than amongst graduates. Nigeria's educational system is bad bad, one only need compare the way high schoolers in the US express ideas in spoken and written form to graduates from Nigerian Universities to know how bad it is.

And this is my only problem with those who say only graduates should be allowed to contest for presidency.

Someone who barely attended classess and graduates with a pass in Uni qualifies to contest but another who has excelled in administrative and leadership roles cannot because he has SSCE.

By the way, did Jonathan not have a PhD? He's arguably the worst president we've had post 1999.

That is why its better to let everyone contest from SSCE up

I am not ready to lose a Maduka or Dangote type Administrator just because he didn't go to Uni to study.
If we say SSCE, it will cover Dangote as well as Professor Soyinka. but by the time we are starting to screen some people out you will miss out on gems

Its like saying those who didnt go to proper football academy should not be allowed in EPL. While the concentration of good footballers might be more among those who went through academy but there is a chance you are missing on a Kanu Nwankwo or Ronaldinho just because he didn't go through academy

Demola Adeleke dancing Senator has a degree, Dino Melaye has a degree even get PhD, Dangote no get degree

Even in US the Uni grads are likely to debate better and have better academic knowledge, but the US realize that academics is just one thing. There are other more important things to life than just academics

E.g A Zuckerberg, Bill Gates etc wont qualify for US presidency because of this degree requirement despite running economies bigger than 80% of countries yet a PHD holder with no administrative experience will qualify. Even a man who started his own successful business that grow to billions, wont qualify but a man who read theories in University with no life experiences would
