Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani condemned the interventionist positions of the United States and the European Union with regard to Ms. Mahsa Amini.

Based on religious and historical beliefs and values, human rights have an inherent value and status for the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said.

It is regrettable that some countries try to take advantage of an incident under investigation as an opportunity to pursue their political goals and desires against the government and people of Iran by politically and instrumentally abusing human rights.

The West’s dual approach and turning a blind eye to the continuous crimes of their allies in all parts of the world, including against the oppressed Palestinian nation, will only lead to the hypocrisy of the West in the issue of human rights.

He advised these governments to address the miserable situation of human rights in their countries and stop fruitless efforts to create sedition in other countries.
