I don't know where people get this idea that refurbished = substandard.
Refurbish literally means renovate/restore/renew.

A refurbished phone is a phone that has had all it's faulty components removed and replaced with non-faulty ones.

A refurbished phone is as good as a new phone, and sometimes better.

The 43 inch Phillips 4k TV wey I dey use na refurbished from Europe.
I don use am for 3 years going to 4, and e still dey gidigba.

Refurbished products are products wey no get defects again unlike the new ones wey dey ship with factory defects.

If it is not new,it can never be new..
Working like new is not the same thing as being new..
And using a quote from an Apple refurbished iPhone,does not apply to a generic refurbished Android phone..
How are you sure the replaced parts are as good as the original?
You think an after market,refurbished Galaxy Note 9 screen will be of the same quality as the original?
I have used a refurbished Galaxy Note 4 and it was GARBAGE..

There are manufacturer refurbished products and 3rd party refurbished ones. Manufacturer ones are better than new in some cases just that they won't sell it as new because it has been used before even if na one day dem use am. Sometimes when placed side by side with a new phone you can't tell the difference. 3rd party ones on the other hand are where another company sources the parts from anywhere to repair used phones to be able to resell them. Some do a good job while some don't. Some illiterates call clone phones refurbished which is wrong.
