Guy, my candid advice is move to ibadan based on this point: 1. You are learning another skill apart from the one you do in lagos. 2. It will gives you rooms to learn more skills due to shifting time. 3. Your current job will lead to monotonuos since is the same routine. 4. Fine money is a motivation to change jobs but you need to look at what lies in the future for you. Ireoooo Hardaydayjee: |

On this, I think it is better said or described by someone who had lived in both cities before. I can tell you categorically that LAGOS is overrated. Choose IBADAN. Because I grew up in Lagos, schooled and worked in Lagos before transferring to Ibadan by my employer. Thank God I accepted the movement even though it was initially looked as punishment to me. Cost of leaving in Ibadan is very low compared to Lagos. Feeding in Ibadan is relatively cheaper than Lagos. Cost of Transportation in Ibadan is still lower than Lagos because it is only in Ibadan you can still pay #100 even #50 in some routes on taxis or buses. It is only in Ibadan you see numerous Mama puts or Buka where foods such Amala with Gbegiri and Ewedu together with assorted meat are relatively cheap compared to Lagos. Ibadan is the home for food market such as Bodija, Oje, Academy, Oja Oba, Molete ......etc. For fruits, go to Oje market, for Suya, go to Sabo But let me warn you, Ibadan is filled with lawless taxi drivers whom maintenance of their taxis or cleaning is not in their dictionary. Be ready to get yourself wet Wella during raining season while inside as most windows are not working and don't be surprised to see the road under your feet as the floor of some of the taxis are only covered with rubber carpet . Ditto to the commercial buses. Environment, hmmm especially those core Ibadan town such as Beere, etc... I can't explain better. See it yourself In summary, I will advise that you choose IBADAN Meanwhile, I rep Abuja currently. Hoping to come back as my personal house is in Ibadan. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Hardaydayjee:I worked in Ibadan for 2 years. And I am currently working in Lagos. If you are moving to Ibadan because of the myth of "lower cost of living", e go shock you. I worked in IB on a salary of 70k and I struggled. And things were not as bad as now. Perhaps, it was me sha. On the other hand, if you want to live long, go to Ibadan. Lagos is not a city for normal human being to stay. Finally, if you want to move to IB, ensure that the job provides job security for you. The chance that you will be able to change job or see another job is very slim. And if by any chance the company lay you off, you have to find your way back to Lagos. In Lagos, you are open to more opportunities. And your chance of getting another job is high. Peace!! 4 Likes |

obembet: Hahahaha! I have to admit that since I moved to Ibadan in 2016, things have greatly changed...things are now a little bit more expensive, like rent, transportation and entertainment...but Ibadan is still far more favorable to live in than Lagos. For one, little to no traffic on the roads, compared to Lagos. And there are many quiet and conducive places to live in. Food is cheaper. Plus, security here is relatively better than security in Lagos. I lived in Lagos all my life before I moved here in 2016. 1 Like 1 Share |
