Great storytelling, good acting from the cast.
I don't think they explained the main motive of the killer villain. Wonder what's his endgame or what led to him targeting his victims.






I thought I was the only one. This is the major reason I didn't give the film an A. No back story on the grabber. That film could have used a little satanism. They could have made him to be a wizard who required the sacrifice of little children to appease the devil or something. His house would have been really haunted, the young boy would have seen hell and the whole shit would have been lit X5.

Like I said in another group, horror movies spiced with demonic elements are at the top of the game. Once you go outside logic and bring satanism and the occult into your movie, it gives you the creative freedom to do whatever. Horror films where satanism is expressed with paranormal activity anytime any day ✓✓✓✓

More than a dozen of such movies has been released this year alone.

Inception and Paprika are both about invading people's dreams. That is where the similarities end. Paprika's dream world is that of fantasy and supernatural that affect the real world. Inception's is more grounded in reality with the dream weaving architects and layers of dreams with timed slowing down in each layer.

Even this argument makes no sense.

Reboots and remakes have either the same plot or the same characters from the same intellectual properties.

The animes you mention do not have the same plot or characters.

From a legal sense, you know that I am right.

The plot ideas of the matrix and inception are highly original.

Google "high concept" films and educate yourself.

Like..... I wanted to give the film an 8/10 rating or higher but cos of that plotline error I just decided to lower the score. If they even gave him a logical backstory like him being abused as a kid by probably a close relative. Thus grew into it. Then probably one event led to him actively seeking and killing kids in adulthood.
We don't know what The Grabber wants or led to that. That was the weakest link in the whole movie. One is just left to assume and deduce his story themselves.

Bruh, you know the drill. I no dey take horror movies with spirituality, supernatural and occult dey play. They're the best horror for me. All these psychological and slasher horror no dey do much to me.

The only horror movie that's not under these genre that have gone up very high my horror all time list would be Train To Busan.

If I watch the Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Shining for midnight, Exorcist no fit scare me much shi shi. grin tongue

Almost all my horror movies since I became an adult I watch alone and at night. Most around 10pm till midnight. cheesy It's horror movies I feel I can't be scared one bit I watch during the day if I'm trying to clear up my watchlist. Movies like Nope, Old, Split etc....

How you go even watch correct horror film for daytime, come open mouth say u watch horror movie. grin

Went through these articles earlier this week... Amongst these top 50+ movies, I've watched at least 15 films in each and almost all of them on my watchlist.

As for the RT article, I've watched 5 of 'em and all already on my to do list.

Na just time remain to clear at least 50% of my backlog by year's end.

Emily The Criminal (2022)

EMILY THE CRIMINAL is a gripping anti-capitalist crime film. Aubrey Plaza brings a level of ferocity we haven't really seen her showcase before making this one of her best performances. Grounded with exceedingly dangerous & relatable stakes, this one both thrills & entertains.
