Many refers to former President Good luck Jonathan today as a true Democrats due to his non-interference in the 2015 General Election.

From the last Osun gubernatorial election where the opposition People's Democratic Party candidate won, against an incumbent. One can only envisage the commendations that may pour in to President Buhari if a free and credible election is conducted in 2023, no matter the view one may have had about President Buhari in the past.

The cry of Nigerians today is for the umpire to allow for a free and credible Election not minding who won. This can only be achieved if President Buhari allows all security agencies to do their job without prejudice and partisanship. And also for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to carry out her function without external interference.

The onus entirely now falls on President Buhari to write his name in GOLD not minding the party that may emerge winner at the end of the day.

Even as campaign has commenced, President Buhari should ensure security agencies are not used to intimidate or oppress any section or supporters of any party nor thugs are not given any chance to oppress opposing views too as being recorded in the social media.

It's the wish of every leader that at the end of their tenure, they're remembered for their good legacy. Already, the signed Electoral Act is one legacy that Nigerians will always remember President Buhari for.
