Nigeria in collaboration with AU and UN should seriously sanction cameroun for opening their dams without prior notice to Nigeria. This flooding that Nigeria has been subjected to has caused untold hardship, destruction, displacement and loss of livelihood to many Nigerians.

Nigeria will loose that case coz they did. Nimet released the memo Sept 13. Go and verify. Why has Nigeria failed to complete the dam that was built since 1982 to cushion the effect of the lugbe dam from cameroun that was been built in Adamawa. Its over 30 years and we didn't finish a dam. Nigeria is Nigeria problem. Cameroun has always fulfilled their part of the meeting between them and Nigeria over the dam in 1982. Did Nigeria fulfil theirs? Nigeria has behave like Nigerians. We failed to acknowledge Science and put everything over destiny.

Nigeria failed to complete the Adamawa dam since 1982 (30 years) that was meant to reduce the effect of release of the dam. Imagine, we couldn't build a dam over 30 years when cameroun built that BTW 1977-1982.

It seems this just happen because I have not heard Diri saying anything about this.

The FG needs to find a way to put an end to this

If not for the OP, I won't know such a thing is happening in Bayelsa State.

The Governor have not said anything about it, it seems the Governor is more concern about the 2023 election
how many states have good governors? Probably 5

My local government(ONELGA) in River State is massively affected. The only two houses we have in the LGA headquarter has been taken over by the flood. It hasn't been easy around here.

What is the root cause of this flood yearly?
This is what govt should be looking at and finding ways to solve instead of thinking of looting the treasury to share palliative try NEMA....
Which dam was open and was there any sea rise in the nearby oceans or big rivers like river Niger? Perhaps the gods are angry with us...we should appease them ooo.

I spoke with my friend today who lives in Yenagoa. I was dumbfounded when he told me about the flood ravaging Bayelsa. I informed him that the rest of Nigeria seems unaware about what is happening in Bayelsa, unlike Anambra and kogi that's in the spotlight. Thank you mosdii for bringing this here to create awareness.

Since Nigerian girls have stopped being useless in your mindset, you have been posting meaningful topics.

This flood disaster just shows you how useless APC is. This is something that has happened several years ago, till now, APC could not find a counter measure.

Meanwhile, where is the minister of disaster?

That energy should be channeled to dredging our various rivers after some period of time.

The people living here probably lose their credentials and other important credentials.....In a saner clime, sueing the government over damage would be a good and welcome development....

But you dare not try it here....Thugs with fried brain will collect money and begin to intimidate you and your family members..

As people sued in Louisianna, USA right?

Obi did nothing for Anambra state.

Majority of drug dealers caught outside of Nigeria are from Anambra State.

I think they do give prior notices before opening...I know in Kaduna NEMA and SEMA gave likely affected areas like 2 weeks notice even up to the last hour.
