I don't know if it's just me, but ever since Bola Tinubu declared his Presidential intentions, Sanwo-olu has been unusually busy and proactive. If he's not commissioning projects, he's courting foreign investments or proposing increment in workers' salaries. All in a bid to sell the impression that Lagos is meeting her full potentials as Tinubu's legacy. Lol. They were right when they said Tinubu is a different breed of politicians. Instead of the usual stomach infrastructure and articulate propaganda that other politicians brandish, man is fronting an entire state as an achievement and using the governor as a string-puppet in the pursuit of his ambition. How I wish Tinubu could just govern my Anambra for just 4 years, at least there would be great hope of real progress for the coming years. 6 Likes |

PotatoSalad:You're being miopic. It has been benefitting thousands of Nigerians already. It is not only about affording to live there. Booker T once said to African Americans: "An opportunity to earn a dollar is better than opportunity to spend it in an opera house" Right from the dredging stage to the laying of pipes and cables, to construction of roads and bridges as well as other infrastructure, to erection of the towers that are standing tall today, thousands of Nigerians have gained both direct and indirect employments from Eko Atlantic City alone. That is one great way of building the economy. What you referred to as a white elephant project is actually a multimillion dollar private investment which is targeted at the future. A lot of foreigners and well to do Nigerians are residents of Eko Atlantic City already. Visit the pearls towers to see for yourself. 2 Likes |

Nigerian government should regulate the activities of these so called foreign investors, that is what China is doing. If not, we will be here in Nigeria calling ourselves the citizens of this country while the foreigners control the critical sectors of the economy. They will not invest in manufacturing and critical sectors like mining that will create jobs for the youths, but they will be here stealing already developed land in highbrow areas like Lekki in the name of investment. How many foreign investors have shown interest in Ajaokuta steel plant for instance, this is a critical sector that can drive industrialization in the country and make Nigerian economy competitive, but they want to use Eko Atlantic city to do business and secure their land there, and they call it investment. 1 Like |

Joniww: Your hostile response was unnecessary. The comment was made to allude to Lagos' unique trajectory of development which is cannot be rivaled by any of the states in our Republic. By the way, I am based in North America. My wife is Lagosian and we own property that we visit each winter and summer for periodic maintenance and vacation.
