Yes Anambra is the richest state in SE with the biggest economy with the biggest industrial complexes, commercial districts, etc. Imo state has the biggest sex market in Nigeria, I won't take that away from them. Millions of imo indigenes are living in Anambra because imo state is a cursed backward useless worthless shithole state.

Even in your bigot mind you know that there's no way a useless worthless backward state like imo would ever have a bigger economy than Delta and Anambra. You know it is not possible. Anyways this budgit, they have limited access to data unlike the NBS. See the actual GDP ranking from NBS.

Few years ago Imo was the 5th richest and now the 4th richest in Nigeria, nice one for Ndi Imo.

Fake BS data. Go and check last NBS data for GDP, Imo is no where near Anambra and I don’t recall NBS releasing another data.

Looking at the diffrent rankings in their entirety, it obvious ALL south-east state gov'ts need to pull their socks up! The Soludo gov't is barely 6 months in office, so we can cut them some slack as it's too early to see the effects of their overhauling and reinvention of systems and procedures in governance and finance management! However, i will not be as forgiving on other state gov'ts in the region....especially Imo and Abia states! Inspite of the obvious challenges facing south-east states, we should try and do better!

The Soludo gov't could consider launching and publicising a portal though which individuals and corporate organisations could contribute into a fund for victims of flooding in the state!

Keep deceiving yourself,Imo has always been the highest in the south east. Imo has the largest palm plantation in Africa, oil companies like Shell,Chevron etc, generates a lot from the tourism industry...Only the value of shell covers all the companies you chest beat about..
Nkita ara, Imo state has over 160oil wells, possesses the largest gas reserve in Africa which is worth over $7trillion,if you think it's exaggeration I will post a link where it was confirmed by the minister of petroleum.

Stop deceiving yourself. Tell yourself the bitter, is it ever possible even in your own thoughts for a useless worthless state as imo to have bigger GDP than Delta and Anambra? Imo state has absolutely nothing except small oil deposit, aside that, the only other thing imo has is booming commercial sex hawking cartel.

Now compare it to Anambra that has the only auto manufacturer in Nigeria, largest industrial layout in Eastern Nigeria, largest trading center in West Africa, large deposits oil and gas, large human capital, etc. The same is with Delta with its huge oil and gas, industrial complex, commercial centers, etc.

It is only a fool that will believe the report by budgit when in reality it is entirely different thing.

In reality, Imo indigenes are the ones that moves to Anambra because it has a better and bigger economy, but you can never see one Anambra indigene that live in imo state. It tells you where the economy is.

Anambra equally has oil companies like Sterling, Orient energy, etc operating in the state.

Imo state can only compete with states like Ekiti while Anambra competes with states like Lagos, Rivers, Delta, etc. Imo is below Anambra in all indices of development. Stop living in deception.

Here's the authentic GDP report and poverty ranking by states. You can never compare apple and orange. Cursed anuofia. Ediot

ANAMBRA STATE GOVT AWARD’S CONTRACTS TO CONTRUCT FLYOVER, MORE ROADS

Paul Nwosu

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State is gradually making good his promise to turn Anambra State into one huge road construction site, all in a bid to ultimately make travelling around the state easier and pleasurable.

To this end, Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) recently approved and awarded contracts for the construction of a flyover at Ekwulobia to decongest the hellish traffic jam often experienced at the roundabout. Other adjoining roads around the area to be constructed include the Nanka –Ekwulobia – Aguata local government headquarters road (2.0km); Ekwulobia – Oko road (0.825km) and Ekwulobia – Isuofia road (1.125km). Other ancillary structures and facilities to be built around the Ekwulobia hub are, a bus terminal building, fuel station, security office building, fire station and other external works such as sewage treatment facilities, drainage, landscaping, etc. All the construction work will be handled by A.V. Vision Construction Nig Ltd at the cost of N10,100,000, 000.00 (ten billion, one hundred million) and the work is to be completed in 18 months.

Also to be constructed by A.V. Vision Construction Nig Ltd are the Isuofia to Nanka Road with spur to Nanka/Obi Adimorah Road (2.2km and 10.3m wide) at the cost of N748,000,085.05k (seven hundred and forty eight million, eighty five naira, fifty kobo).

Six vital roads in Awka, the capital city of the state that were also among the set of contracts just awarded include, the Club (Abakaliki) Road (2.078km); Regina Caeli to Y Junction (1.173km); Millenium Industry – INEC – Ekwueme Square (1.762km) and Unizik Temp Site – Okpuno – Isuaniocha Junction (6.847km). Others are, Chukwudifu Street (0.297km) and PPSSC – NECO office Road (0.473km). The construction of these roads have been awarded to Niger Construction Company Ltd (Nigercat) at the cost of N6,665,960,804.70k (six billion, six hundred and sixty five million, nine hundred and sixty thousand, eight hundred and four naira, seventy kobo and the company has a target of 10 months to complete the job.

Anambra doesn't need your dirty aba validation. Anambra is already up there and doesn't need your useless nonsensical post that's veiled by envy and frustration.

Obiano is the reason Anambra now has a worldclass international airport and best ICC in igboland that's why envious outsiders like you hate him because he dared. No government can fix everything in 8yrs. Anambra has the best roads in igboland.

Now Spludo is going onto other areas of development, that's how a place develops. But the reverse is the case in your backward useless Abia state where there is no development since 1999 till date but you aren't even worried. Airport you don't have, roads you don't have, infrastructures you don't have. What then can you boast of in abia state? Nothing. I really pity you people from abia state.

Almost all the roads in abia state is dilapidated with mountain of garbage dumpsites everywhere.

Abia state kept electing ediots, incompetent buffoons, clowns and thieves to rule them.

Economic complexity is not buying and selling like Alaba. Its manufacturing, engineering, sophisticated retail. GLO does 700 billion in revenue a year. They hire engineers, accountants, marketers, a wide array of professionals. Alaba is traders and sales girls and boys.

The SE has let its self down by playing to the Alaba model of economic activity. Primitive retailing. But there cannot be a high street when people are selling in barrows or in primitive 10x10 shops. It's why university graduates flee the region in droves.

Do the economic calculation of modern vs primitive. A properly designed retail outlet requires cement, paint, furniture, electricity, computers, TV, cleaners, trained staff with uniforms, signage. A wheelbarrow requires only a wheelbarrow.

You say that Anambra has nice houses in rural areas. Why didn't their owners build just basic huts with no electricity, electrical fixtures, interlocking stones, fancy gates etc. Is a house not a house?

If SE want better cities its not going to come from primitive markets as the centre of activity. It requires properly managed business districts that draw in sophisticated businesses. Look at the disgraceful state of Zik Avenue with Eke Awka, Eastern mass all turning it to agbero haven.

Anambra is a shit hole na. With less sophisticated pple unlike imo and Enugu states. Everything is centered on a rickety 2x2 shops scattered all around like debris with stinky gutters facing every shops. Very backward illiterates
