kerry57:Do you realize that the state government is your ultimate landlord in any state where you reside except if you occupy federal government land. Who signed the certificate of occupancy issued to Dangote Cement Kogi for the place they occupy in Kogi? Do you know the state government has a right to shut you or any organization down in public interest, especially if they can prove it in case you or the organization approach the courts. Who is deceiving you that Kogi state government can't win the case? |

kerry57:Ignorant people like you full everywhere. The Kogi State Government owns the land the factory is located. In our constitution, lands belong to the State Government not to the FG. The Kogi State Government can revoke Dangote CofO. |

Parachoko:U aren't ignorant at all. U are a wise guy. Dangote got the land from the blues abi? Was it not the state govt that gave him the land in the first place. For ur info there was an existing company there before called the ajaokuta cement factory which Dangote bought which they later changed to Dangote cement after some yrs of partnership with the govt. |

Business as usual, I pity the residents of that community, they will continue to inhale cement dust for the rest of their lives, their children will be severely damaged on the health grounds, while the crooks who made the deal are cruising somewhere far away from the mess they created. |

Wallade:Only a state governor with vision can win the case, the current one lacks vision and is clueless, see how he was easily sidelined by the FG and dangote, the only thing the state governor has secured for its citizens is extra tonnes of cement dust for the residents of Obajana, you call that a win win? |

quentin06:The governor is simply giving peace a chance, I don't see his acceptance of the position of the Federal Government as a setback. The resolution space is the court of law, that is where Kogi state should get justice. Justice in the courts is supposed to be supreme to Federal Government opinion. I strongly feel the state should still own 10% of Dangote Cement, Kogi, based on information that are available. |

Wallade:Bro. This ur question and submission is valid, I agree with u but these questions should be directed to the govt in power when the deal was sealed. I don't just wake up one day and go and shop somebody's biz because u felt he shortchanged the state govt when deal was done. A deal is a deal and when sealed it is sealed if u have issues with it go to court and not going to shut down somebody's biz. Forget that it is dagote today it can be u tomorrow. How will u feel after buying a land to build a house, after building the house, the children of the person that sold the land get to ur house and told u that u can't access ur property because u shortchanged their father? |

kerry57:I don't know what transpired in the Kogi state house of assembly that resulted to the decision to shut Dongote Cement Kogi down. However, I know that the state house of assembly is a legislative arm of government and can make laws too within the state. As long as Dangote Cement Kogi is operating in Kogi, the state house of assembly can take decisions that will directly affect any organization in the state. They claim to have invited Dangote Cement Kogi severally, they also claim several executive government effort has been made to engage Dangote Cement Kogi in conversations about the contention on the agreement but the company rebuffed every effort. Moreover, I think they based the decision to shut Dangote Cement Kogi down on Public interest, this is a technical and substantial position that any government can use to take decisions against private citizens or organization provided the government can prove it beyond reasonable doubt. I think the best step to take by Kogi state government is to approach the court to seek redress and compensation. |

Isobug:the two parties agree to work together. The greediness of Southerners will not allow themselves to settle a small issue. A northerner can decide to sacrifice billions for peace to reign but a southerner will not agree. For example the case of Innoson and GTB, Andy Ubah with Access Bank. Stop trying to blame federal government. |

Dangote is an asset the FG dares not to lose. It's like bezos, gates, musk to the world. You don't wanna lose them |

kerry57:People hate capitalists. Especially poor people. They hate it when only one man is making all the money. And that's probably why the remain poor. There's this man in my street that's basically doing everything business. Only him have laundry, barber shop, eatery, provision shop etc. If you see the way people talk bad about this man ehn. They'll be talking behind his back that why will one man put his hand inside everything? The few times, I comment when people talk about him, I ask them if anything is holding them from opening their own business. Poor people hate capitalists. |

Isobug:Exactly what I have been preaching. The current makeup of that country benefits the North that is the main reason they are the only one glamouring for this to continue. |

Gentlevip:Dangote asset to what again !!!! Partner Dangote is no asset to Nigeria okay. When one man has a monopoly on nearly 80% of the consumer's needs in a country that is not how you define an asset. |
