Are you marvelously stupid? Comparing Lagos to any state is like a one eyed man in the land of the blind. Lagos cannot in terms of infrastructure compete with Dakar, Johannesburg, Cape town and Cairo also Kigali and other key cities in Africa. Lagos in all standards is not developing, it is even among the least liveable cities in the world just better than war torn Damascus, which is so embarassing. If you have really travelled outside Nigeria, you will not even make this stupid statement.
Your dad at home most be stupid

That is the lack of structure we are talking about, L.P. lack candidates that are contesting meaningfully at all levels, you can't just tell people to vote only for LP when it comes to presidency and vote whoever they want at other levels. You guys forgot that, it General election we are doing next year. For any president to win at the center, he must also win the majority of other levels. The lost that is waiting for Obi is so glaring. He can not even second

If APC and pdp likes let them win the whole 36 states of the federation’s gubernatorial elections. The major thing is that LP wins the presidential election.

After all, governors can cross carpet and switch political parties at any time, or have you forgotten its Nigeria we are in again lol tongue

If any party takes over Lagos as it is today with the rate of rural-urban migration and absence of well structured systems in the Country, Lagos will become a big mess and a burden to the country.

Let's use Cross River State as a case study.

As a child during Christmas, we would land at the Airport in Calabar to spend our Christmas vacation as spectators of the colourful bands that will dance past us during the Calabar carnival. The carnival was simply the biggest Christmas event in Sub-saharan Africa.

On our way to the hotel we'd stay, my mother and the tour guide would be discussing how clean Calabar was. I remember trees planted in the city and thousands of waste bins that were not filled up after every 1 meter. I was not yet 10 years old but I think those trips to the hotel used to feed my eyes with neatest gaze of an environment anywhere in the country. We'd visit Tinapa, Marina resort and Obudu Cattle Ranch when father gave us more funds to enjoy ourselves.

After Donald Duke exited office as Executive Governor, the next Governor continued with the carnival but the quality was decreasing, the towns were becoming disorganized and the facilities for tourism in the state were deteriorating.

Under the administration of the current Governor, Cross River State is a ghost town during Decembers. There's no carnival and the towns are as dirty as any Nigerian town. Weed and rodents have taken over what used to be the destination of tourists in Nigeria.

Donald Duke had a vision of creating the best tourism site in Africa. He did that in 8 years but the project was a long term project that should have taken 30 years to reach its prime. All he needed was q chain of successors to achieve the goal and people from that part of the country would be swimming in wealth like the natives of the Emirates.

Getting successors and a team to continue the long term plan of developing Lagos to the best city in Africa is what Tinubu got right.

You may ask why succession democracy doesn't have a place in North America and Western Europe but nations in those continents prosper. Those countries had systems built for more than 100 years before they could work. That is why whether an American President is Democrat or Republican, he knows that he has a responsibility of fighting at least one foreign war before he leaves office because America profits through foreign domination.

We are still in the process of building strong systems and institutions. Don't argue that anything will change soon because even Peter Obi which you portray as something new is bigger than Labour Party. That's a classical example of individuals being powerful than institutions and systems.

You should instead study the rise of the Emirates to understand how the succession of their monarchs helped them in achieving their goals or China to comprehend why there is the CCP.
You are wise... Was reading about a town in Germany few days ago thats been existing for over 500years... Building a nation needs time

Tinubu is indifferent about that o. He is that part of body that is stubborn and arrogant o. While I agree with you that once the head is correct, the body is suppose to be correct but Tinubu is not that kind of politician to conform o, he calls the shots not the shots called for him. Did he conform while PDP was there, no. Even with his own party sef, did he conform? Even if he becomes the president which by God's grace, he won't, do you think he will be loyal Even to his party? No because, the only person he is loyal to is himself and the power he seeks. He is on Lagosian's necks. Lagos is not and can't be at its best as long as he remains, neither will Nigerian if they make that mistake of giving him the chance. His politics is godfatherism and Lagos is suffering innately for it, forget all the temporal face-lift. It's all directed to a purpose, HIM and HIS AMBITIONS. He will only subdue Lagos more if he doesn't have his way at the federal and will fight tooth and nail to frustrate Obi's effort when Obi wins, which I pray and hope Obi wins.
I stand to be corrected o but with Tinubu's antecedent, he needs to be retired completely, if we want sanity all round for the head to function well with the other parts of the system and the quickest way, is to take Lagos away from him. He can hold other states but not Lagos. LAGOS is the only reason why tinubu is reckoned with, that's all. Asides that, he is a nobody and he needs to be reminded that.

The fact is that if there’s any politician on the ballot who knows the antecedents and workings of the government and is ready to sever ties with any links to political godfatherism that person is Peter Obi.

If the right person is on the seat of power in aso rock every corrupt and fraudulent member of the government will be exposed and prosecuted and that is the only way Tinubu’s wings can be sheered off . . . well, apart from death that is

You still don't get... Aso Rock and State are two different things and one cannot force the other. If it was like that, Obasanjo would have had his way with Lagos then or Buhari would have turned Nigeria to one party state since. They can only try to influence or exert affluence. While Peter Obi will try, he will only work and collaborate with regions that are ready. If Tinubu feels otherwise, his boys and states where he has influence too can act otherwise and there is nothing Obi can do about it . Another place where he can them exert his powers thru rule of law is when it falls on constitutional rights being breach by either side... you don't understand, if you do, you would realize the necessity and by the way, this isn't really about tinubu but the need for Lagos to experience real competition and growth. You can't understand.
