Spy360, Saliba made a mistake in the 53rd minute when he was attempting to dribble out from the back but Bamford stole the ball and ran through on goal with one on one with Ramsdale.

Saliba left him to run free without engaging him instead he banked/relied on Ramsdale to make a save and thankfully Ramsdale did.

That Exactly was what I expected Gabriel to do against tottenham instead of stupidly sliding Richarlison. God knows if Saliba had stupidly engaged Bandied the way Gabriel engaged Richarlison, maybe na different tori we dey talk now

Leeds'penalty shouldn't have stood yesterday. How VAR ignored an offside as blatant as this is beyond me. Yet if Arsenal scored a goal, Dem go use ruler and protractor draw useless lines ... SMH.
VAR could spot a 1cm offside but couldn't spot an offside as vivid as this.
We could have lost 2 massive points yesterday.

kokaneprodigy:
You read where I mentioned he didn’t do anything wrong.

However, defenders should understand gimmicks from attackers in such situation particularly where we have more to lose.
If his studs had made substantial contact he would have been sent off irrespective. Diego Costa did this thing to one of our defenders back then when we played against Chelsea and we suffered for it.
I agree with you here. Bamford tried to get in his head and almost succeeded. We were lucky VAR was active.

The timing of the game is important (53mins) because he would risk getting a red.

However, have you ever heard of the saying 'if you miss the ball, don't miss the man'?

Think about it.

Lol, now it's about timing of the game?

Thank God Saliba doesn't believe in the bolded, if not ehh. grin grin

Why I mentioned timing is clear because of the risk of a red card with much to play for. Gabriel's challenge on Richarlison was a technical foul and has no risk of red card. That of Saliba has the risk so different situations.

However, it is better to concede a penalty than to allow a player direct shot on open goal. It's that simple and players do it regularly. If you go one on one with a goalkeeper and beat him, he will clip your legs for a penalty than allow you to score. This happen all the time I wonder how you don't get it.

If saliba engage him it's straight red
Better to concede than collect red and commit the team to unnecessary pressure because you will collect red and still concede PK
I learnt this from mourinho

While I agree for that red card and it'll be foolish for him to engage but you see that bolded, check out how Ramsdale allowed vardy free reign to score the goal this season when he dribbled Ramsdale yet Ramsdale didn't foul him. Even ystdy when Rashford dribbled Pope, Pope didn't foul him either too. To do all those things is last option in last minute of the game.
Aside that, it's never ever advisable to do the bolded

Lol, it's even common sense sef. No matter how, it's you don't use penalty or red card as option except it's a dying minute of the game

The GOAT finishes 8th which is a false representation to me. I thought Bellingham had a far more impressive season than Gabu, same with Musiala. Nuno Mendes/ Gravenberch/ Gvardiol did not have a better season than the GOAT!

His lack of UCL appearances is by far the biggest thing holding him back.

1. Gavi (Barcelona)
2. Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid)
3. Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)
4. Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund)
5. Nuno Mendes (Paris Saint-Germain)
6. Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax/Bayern Munich)
7. Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig)
8. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
9. Karim Adeyemi (Red Bull Salzburg/Borussia Dortmund)
10. Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)

Worst part is that ref checked the screen and gave the PK, that's when the camera was now showing this offside angle.

CL was a huge factor. In terms of quality, talent and team dependence this result does not portray what's intended. Therefore I reject this result.

This gvardiol looks a very impressive player.
His ball playing skills is world class if you ask me.I believe he can be one of the very best players in the world in his position in no distant time

Yet the same Firmino is presently benching 100m Nunez and he's starting. grin

But that's not even the point about all these dragging. You claimed that Haller is good for us and I showed you otherwise from his stint starting from Holland down to England. Now he was back to Holland and had a good season making balon d'Or top 20. So what are you really dragging me for? Is it that he's better than Firmino as a player or he's proving me wrong that he has the abilities to lead our attack. Which one?

That Haller is a better cf than firminho
Also he didn't flop at Westham I showed you link of how Westham struggle with pure 9 even chicarito struggled
But no you want to use EPL as yardstick to grade a striker

I don't think this was our original argument Tbh. I've never argued Firmino Vs Haller with you cos I don't see the basis.

Also, you saying Westham struggle with a pure 9 is just you looking for soft landing for him. My guy have been dropping poor numbers before going to Westham but posted big numbers at Ajax but I'm to believe we should buy him because of your simplistic claim that "natural 9 doesn't shine in Westham"? Mind you, we had that argument before his move to Ajax oo

Meanwhile, Firmino argument is a different discourse entirely because I said I preferred a striker like Firmino who loves to linkup with both his Midfielders and wingers(good interplay) aside scoring goals.

Don't worry, lemme see if I can dig out our genesis of this Haller argument
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:04am On Oct 18, 2022
Look at where all the argument started from. When you made that post and I replied

sod09:
Sakadinho player of the month

Haller to westham
chai e pain me
I don't understand?

Then you said this

sod09:
The guy is good, would have been a perfect replacement for auba if money they.
Can use head and legs
Then I replied with this

sod09:
The guy is good, would have been a perfect replacement for auba if money they.
Can use head and legs
Whohuh?
Same Haller from west ham that I know
??
Abi anoda one?

And na so e start.
Even Blueray and Afro.doc joined in telling you that Haller is not regarded as a top striker to take us to the next level. And all the happened when he was still at West ham before his move to Ajax. And you know say Blueray no dey agree with me on any firmino matter. So no mix up the two matter cool

Var would have paused our celebration and will tell the ref to review the handball. If it's a handball offence(as it was on Sunday), then our goal would have been cancelled and the Leeds penalty be taken. If it isn't a handball offence, then our goal would have stood

So yeah, if we'd scored on Sunday it wouldn't have stood.
