Let's not confuse exchange rate of national currency to quality of life in a country.... Quality of life is way better in Ghana than Nigeria as of today (PERIOD).

They have security and we don't.

Their Universities and educational system are functioning and our's don't.

Their health care system is better than ours.

They have better electricity and we don't.

People respect and obey the laws in Ghana compared to Nigerians with Nigerian laws.

Their elections are far free and better organized than Nigerian election

Their president is way smarter and not a tribalist like Nigeria's president.

I could go on and on but by now I suppose you get the drift but if you don't then its okay and best of luck to you as always

this are correct buh we are talking abt economy here and which currency is stronger not all what you listed....

When we get to that bridge we go talk abt that.....

Buh someone with 2k in Nigeria will survive beta with his 2k than someone with 30 cedis....

What's the price of there fuel, what's there electricity tariff....

We are talking about economy for now is easy to survive in Nigeria than Ghana...

the only currency I can boast of is Cefa which refuse to climb 700 cefa for long now....

imagine using 10 cedis to enter a bike from Ikorodu to Garage to Agric.

That's like 800naira where on norms sef if things no gel u waka am...

we neva even talk about 30cl coke dey sell for 5cedis+ that's like 400naira and we still buy Coke in Nigeria 35cl from 100 to 150 and 50cl like 170 to 200...

I observed that the social media in Nigeria (including Nigerians in diaspora) is mostly populated by youths who are not very intelligent and exposed enough to contribute to political and economic discussion. They are mostly musical stars, football stars and presidential aspirants fans. They also do online dating and business (legal and yahoo). You cannot objectively and constructively educate them.

Ghana carried out decimalization of CEDI during Obasanjo government. As at this period, at Allen Avenue, Cedi was worthless, just like paper.

Prof Charles Soludo was the CBN governor. He submitted proposal for the decimalisation of Naira to Obasanjo to make =N=1 equal $1. That was 2007. Obasanjo gave approval. Yaradua came. I remembered late Prof Sam Aluko wrote to government against decimalisation of Naira. Prof said it is a very wrong economic principle and that economic forces should be allowed to control exchange rate to visibly see how the economy performs and to prevent false confidence. Some economists supported Prof Aluko. Yaradua stopped Soludo from decimalising Naira.

Despite the poor performance of the Naira compared to how Cedi performed after decimalisation, Naira is still stronger than Cedi in economic indices

The plight of Nigeria economy is that many countries are indirectly dependent on Nigeria. We can never have a very strong economy surrounded by poor family members.
exact reason I stopped arguing with Nigerians on social media . Complete waste of time

1$ is 11cedis/$

1$ is 743/$

So make una keep quiet

$1 dollar is 11,000cedis

Ghana arbitrarily remove 4 zeros from their currency in 2007, that currency is the more you look the less you see

It's just like CBN waking up and printing 1000 naira as 1 naira, 500 as 50kobo etc without anything else or production backing it up

Nigeria minimum wage now change from 37,000nairs to 37naira, goods of 10000 now sold for 10 naira, Naira to cedis exchange now 'fall' from 500cedis to 0.5cedis then they claim they have strong currency

It's the highest level of self deception

I know you're blinded by hate so you prefer taking bike for 1k to a distance wey no pass 5min to 10min distance....

Whereas in Nigeria that distance won't cost you more than 100naira to 200naira....

With 2k Naira you can still survive and rough it how many people in that same Ghana dey make ordinary 1k Ghs monthly....

You people will just go to Google and start getting jargons results and start translating that to real life experience....

Go Ghana first and experience the economy yourself...

so like this now as Naira high pass Korean currency that means Nigerians life is better...

Maybe we should all be telling our government to learn from this instead of making fun. Ghana is still a more secured place to live in. Their schools don't go on strikes every other month.
Why we focus do much energy on distraction is beyond me. We should be striving to be the giant of Africa literarily.

Corruption is overemphasize in Africa
We are not doing bad simply because of corruption, those white are involve in shady deals at international scale we can only dream of

Our real problem is that we are incapable of producing anything of worth at a reasonable quantity, we call ourselves farmers yet more than half of what we eat are imported

Black man only sell raw material, we can produce anything commodity in bulk and that's why 95% of our problems all over the continent comes from

Corruption is just to mask our incompetent

White man will produce 1 billion unit of chocolates in a year even though they don't have much cocoa, if 5million of the 1billion is missing it will not be obvious

That is why any good news about Nigeria always choke them.

Funny enough, those people always constitute nuisance anywhere they go all over the world. Yet when they are about to get the hangman's noose in those countries for crimes, they start insulting same Nigeria for not coming to their rescue.

Watch how they will start telling you how Ghana is a billion time better than the zoo (as they always call Nigeria).

Like Nigeria, like Ghana, like most African countries.

I am not even surprised.

The problem with Ghana is , simply put...they are not a productive country. They are not earning enough in dollars to buffer their currency. Especially since their main export is cocoa, and other agro and mineral stuff, which have the problem we have with oil...their prices are too low to earn enough revenue for the country.

What Ghana needs is a leader who would push them to being more productive...ie more industrial in nature. They apparently have good power supply, so that is not an issue. What they need is more people getting into industries that produce industrial goods that they can export...well well.

At the end, they would earn more forex. And unlike cocoa, they would control the price.

Simple...he

1.Removes subsides on petrol and power.

2.Which attracts more investment in refinereis, and power plants.

3.Which then leads to industrial growth and development

4.Which in ten years time should lead to us exporting more industrial products...more revenue.

A leader is not meant to be academically brilliant, he can be as dull as anything, but so long as he or she takes advice from people who knows what they are doing....ht or she can change things.

(I am not Obidient by the way, nor do I support Buhari, Atiku or Tinubu)
