If they can do this in Syria, one would be right to think that they're doing this in Nigeria too.
This is just 'matching ground' money.

Just that a Big company shouldn't be heard doing this.
What actually (other than scale) is the difference between this and the Oshodi touts that extort small traders?

And a lot of the violence in the South too...na wealthy Southerners fund am

This is not about who is bad than the other....it happens where governance is bad. Criminals take over and extort protection money. And it happens everywhere. From the omo onile to the Bokoist.

Plus my point still stands anyway...Lafarge is not operating in the North. So they can't pay protection or any money to Boko Haram.

P.S I aint excusing anyone..or any criminal. That is why ultimately...it is government's job to be present and to work well.

Every business does the same...even here in Africa, a lot of businesses operating in rebel held areas in many countries pay money to whoever is in charge.

That is why we dey talk good governance, good governance. If the Assads had run an open and free democratic syria, there would have been no underlying anger waiting to burst up and create the environment for this mess.

Lesson for Nigeria...vote right, vote wisely

Lafarge is a French Company, later acquired by a Swiss Company Holcim.

Lafarge has assets in the US and the investigations started from there, however, it was discovered that the US branch had nothing to do with it. Nonetheless, there is an International Law Enforcement Co-operation between the US and some Countries in the EU, France an example.

When David Hundeyin wrote on something similar to this, they called him an alarmist.

Unfortunately, they are a rich and powerful company, so they won't feel the full prosecution effect unlike the poor companies.
