Well, it was a training mission. At the end, training must go on even in warfare.

(As for this war, it's just another fight to me. I have long since stopped taking sides in European or other wars. In 40 years, it won't matter...it would just be another historical footnote like the Thirty Years War, or the Seven Years War).

Militarily they probably don't but economically Africa is the market for any power who wishes to strengthen its commerce, ask China as they are taking maximal advantage of Africa in mining, tech, fintech, crypto currency, construction to name a few. Just because we are not part of the discussion when it comes to military might doesn't mean we are useless. South Africa is solidly with Russia, they are even in BRICS. As for North Korea, everyone knows it would be foolhardy for Russia to accept their troops but the gesture itself speaks volume. Of course, the EU and US must send, the survival of those other Western European countries depends on not having a coercive bully next to them. It's just geo-politics. Turkey is just being smart by half but ultimately, everyone always has to pick a side. Don't act like you didn't see the Carnage Iranian drones have been causing too.

Yes, one can be neutral, because war is war.

Like now, if I asked which side you would have supported in World War one, you won't have an answer.

In my opinion, war happens due to failure of a lot of things. Ukraine failed to treat its minorites right...and Russia refused to check bad governance, corruption, and also still has the habit of thinking (like the US) that it has to force other countries to act as its protectors. Then the US and Europe too want to use Ukraine to protect themselves from Russia...just as Russia wants to use Ukraine as its buffer...Ukraine wants to be allowed freedom of action. (And past historical evidence proves all sides right).

All these interests smack of selfishness, so I choose not to support any side. In my opinion, both sides should stop fighting, and go and fix their problems..and respect each other's independence....then we can talk.

In short both sides have a point. And yes, that's how this world is. There is good and evil, but most of the time, it isn't clear cut. At least in WW2, we knew who was evil and who was not...but if tempers had cooled in July 1914, maybe we won't have had WW2, or Hitler, or Stalin or Dresden, Coventry, Nagasaki, and Tokyo, and a host of other disasters.
