Corruption, running an inefficient subsidy regime, and not sorting out issues around university funding, as well as raising our debt, and massive insecurity from 2014 (Abuja was attacked by bombs several times, plus Chibok, and two massacares of schoolboys in their beds in school, among other things) and draining our forex reserves despite having a record period of high oil prices.

All that made Nigerians look at an incomeptent and old Buhari as a saviour.
